Re: Expanded "FICO High Achievers" (scores of 760 and above) characteristics list

Good for you, Edzero.

Last time I checked, however, Experian only went to 830; and TU and Equifax's highs were 850.  Where did you get your scores?

Then again, perhaps MYFICO has changed its high ratings.

But, what do I know?

Quite the range, but all good.

It takes work and determination to get and maintain but it's worth it.

Sorry to say this, but your TU and EX score are most definitely not FICO scores.  With the scores you posted, these are most likely "Vantage Scores", which have a range up to 990.

Your EQ score could be a FICO score, if you pulled it from this site or from the Equifax website.  Given the fact that your EX and TU Vantage Scores are high, then a EQ FICO score >800 is possible.

Experian calls thiers VantageScore and it ranges from 501 to 990 according to the report I have.

TransUnion uses a similar system and that report is last years.

Equifax reports a FICO score that goes up to 850.

edzero,

No one is doubting what you are saying, they are trying to help you.

I'm sure you have those scores however, what people are trying to tell you is:  They may NOT all be true FICO scores.  I KNOW that the EX score is not.

The ONLY way to get an Experian score after Feb. of this year is through a lender.  Experian DOES use FICO for scoring BUT, we, the general public are not allowed to buy them.  The highest true EX score is 850.

Many folks have been sorely disappointed and have lost loans because they relied on scores other than FICO's.  My DH's score from the EX site was about 100+ pts higher than his actual EX FICO score, which was 831.  (pulled by a lender)

My scores were way off as well.  You can get a true FICO score from Equifax by adding cs in the web address and paying extra for it.  Otherwise, you get a "Plus" or "Vantage" score which is a FAKO.  The same with TransUnion.  The reports will guide you, but the scores are worthless as far as a lender is concerned.

If you are so inclined, you can Google FICO discount codes (to save a few bucks) and get TRUE EQ and TU SCORES from this site.

I wish you well,

D-R

Re: Expanded "FICO High Achievers" (scores of 760 and above) characteristics list

I received an alert from myFICO today that advised my FICO dropped from 780 to 759!!!!!!  When I checked my activity profile on myFICO there was absolutely no activity.  A possible explanation provided on myFICO was that my revolving credit was too high.  I only have one personal cc with a credit limit of $48k.  Two weeks ago I posted a $13k+ charitable donation on my card (like the FF miles so pay as much as I can on my cc!).  I've paid my cc in full monthly and have for 10+ years as I did this month as well.  The card payment has not processed through the system yet however it was paid two weeks before the due date.  Is it possible that this pending balance could have caused my FICO to drop 21 points?  Will it also go back up as soon as the next inquiry by EQ, EX & TU and a nominal or zero cc balance shows?

Sounds like you took a big UTIL hit. (Approximately 35%.) Things will return to normal once the account once again returns to whatever the previous level of balance was that was reporting before.

Re: Expanded "FICO High Achievers" (scores of 760 and above) characteristics list

I used to be a high achiever,

April 08

TU: 795

EQ: 793

EX: 785.

Getting married in Denmark, moving to Germany, having the army screw you in your pay and PCS all lead to my scores plummeting.

4 Jan 09

TU: 727

EQ: 715

I owe $21k and my AAoA is now 5 years. Histort: 8y, 9m. 6 active cards, Newest card opened July 08. Still owe 74% on my car loan.

It sucks but I hope to be above 800 in 18 months (when I get back from Afghanistan). my next pull will be 1 March and I expect to be back up around 735.
