If I have 3 maxed cards that will be paid to 0, what kind of point increase should I expect?

I know this isn't what you want to hear but we can't tell you that as everyone's credit file is different and there just too many variables to even venture a guess. Nonetheless it's certainly going to improve your scores and prevent the cards issuers from wanting to decrease your limit.
As Irish said, no telling for your particular situation, but I can share that my TU score jumped 7 points just paying down my utilization on one card from 45% to 9%. That drop was a combination of PIF, CLI, and lower balance at statement close this month.
A hard question to answer. What does your entire credit profile look like? Do you have any negatives, collections account reporting? You will see some type of score boost but how much no one knows. Good Luck.
So there is no average amount of points one could see? or a range?

I swear I would like to know the same thing... I had a mortgage lender give me the results from my credit simulator- she said to pay down my balance to 101 from 700 limit (maxed) would give me 35 points- TU
She said pay down my balance to 195 from 900 (maxed) would give me 20 points EX

I PIF on all 5 of my cards 2 weeks ago. My utilization was between 50-98% on all of them. Only one account has reported, it was an account that went from 2,400 to 0
(90% util) and it reported to Transunion. My TU score went from 712 to 725.
All my other 0 balances have not reported yet to any other credit agency, I will keep you posted as the weeks go by. I think all will report by the 20th this Month since I PIF AFTER the statement cut off last month. Hope that helps as an example.
