Just had a hard pull on my experian and it raised my score 6 points.
I'm not complaining, just thought it was odd.
Has this happened to anyone else?
A hard pull will never raise your score. Something unrelated raised your score. Utilization went down, age of account, etc.

+1. The HP may have triggered a report update, but that itself would definitely NOT cause an increase in any scenario. As Brian said, it was something else such as utilization drop, credit file aging, accounts aging, etc.

Did you receive an alert to the HP and were provided with a score at that time that was +6? Was this through MF?
I haven't really been around the forum thus far in 2020, but it sounds like the same problem with alerts being unrelated to score changes is still a thing? Quite disappointing that we're still misleading members after all this time, I must say.

No, the inquiry did not cause a score increase.

Yes. Regrettably it's still a thing.

Never happened to me, and we are certain it hasn't happened to you - although it would be nice. You score bump is a result of something other than a "hard pull", my friend.
Nothing else has changed. Nothing changed from other CRAs.

You don't know that. From that alert you don't even know (a) what date the score changed or (b) what date the inquiry reported. If you knew both of those dates, you would have to compare the full Experian reports from each date. And then and only then would you have any idea as to why your score increased.
If you subscribe to experian.com credit monitoring, you can make that kind of investigation. If not, you're out of luck.
Stay away from Credit One if thats where you got the HP from, you are better off getting secured cards from banks and or applying with Cap 1. Credit One is shady af
