I did a little research my VS 4.0 score is 817 and my VS 3.0 is 827. Per the article from Nerd Wallet new accounts have a slightly heavier impact. I have two new accounts one is 21 mins the other 7 months old. I am guessing that is where the bulk of the point difference is.

21 minutes is really recent! And accurate!
Where were you able to locate your vs4 score from? I tried to find a calculation and other resources but was unable to. I went to the Vantage site and all but Synchrony use the vs3 as obtainable by the individual vendors. I don't do any buusiness w/ Synchrony at all. Two things I see as an issue with this website. 1. They are utilizing individual vendors/companies to provide scores which is stupid and 2...big deal with me they list CK and CK is freaking horrid. They gave me a 100 point jump a few years back and I was like where the heck did that come from. I called TU and TU did not reflect any kind of 100 point jump and hadn't even sent over an update. So then I called CK and asked them where the 100 points came from and when they rcvd their update. The lied to me and told me that TU had just sent it over. I then revealed I called TU prior and that their update dates for my file were **** and that I wanted to see the contract of which shows how they obtain my credit. CK got real nasty after that. In short CK gave me a 100 point increase that was reflected no where but via CK and they lied about the timing and refused to show proof. I filed with CFPB...not that I have much faith in that agency either.
@BallBounces It should read 21 months my smart device was showing how unsnarl it can be lol
My VS4 score is from JC Penney and the VS 3 is from a credit union. Use the VS3 score as an approximate score and the article tells you the score areas are weighted .
And you shouldn't need to buy anything on credit to get your vs4 score, period.
@Tiersha I agree with you. I think as time progresses you will see more places offering that score model. My last two credit cards that I have approved for I received in the documents after the approval my credit score and the model used. I do not remember if that happened or did not with my crecit cards it has been too long ago.
I like this sense of humor lol and that is exactly my point, you don't know until you apply...you don't even have an idea unlike all the diff fico scores and vs3.
