Likely the COs are dragging you down.
Debt to Income doesn't matter to FICO, as your income isn't part of the score.
Do you know your Avg. age of accts (AAoA)?
Thank you for your response. My average account appen is 96 months.
An 8 yr AAoA is awesome....if it were lower (2-3 yrs) then I'd say it is that too. The COs are really holding you back.
Got to thinking.....medical offices seldom report. This isn't a collection agency, right? There are ways to get it removed legitimately, but it would mean breaking principle and eventually paying them. Besides, Sept. will be here before you know it.
It is with a collection agency. What are the ways to remove it? The original charge was 11 years ago but then they sold it off to the collection agency. The principal to me is more important. If I had not called to verify they could do the procedure even asking if I need to go to their other office I would pay. I paid the other office but I am not willing to pay for a service not rendered. I believe my score is still high enough that I should not have difficulties getting a loan.
Does the derogatorily come off when the 7 years are up with the collection agency? Can they sell it off to someone else and place it back on my report?
byrdman,
Thank you for that information. Do you know if after the 7 years is up and the bill has not been paid, can they sell the debt off and the new company post the debt to the CRA for 7 more years?

This item should be gone approximately 7 years and 180 days from the date of first delinquency. This is not the date the item was listed on your credit report by the collection agency. 11 years from the original charge? This should have been gone a long time ago.

Ditto.
ETA: If I had proof that this was over 7.5 yrs ago, then I would personally ignore the HIPAA process and I would dispute each CRA via mail (CMRRR) showing such proof and they should delete. Dispute as being time-barred.
