How many points should I expect?

Hi I just paid of 5 accounts off of my credit and they are as follows
100$ from 2013
314$ from 2015
249$ from 2013
134$ from 2014
135$ from 2012
Totaling: 932$

My question is should I expect a significant increase for this payoff?

Re: How many points should I expect?

It really depends.  We need to know a little bit more about your situation.  Baddies, credit cards open, what did you pay?  Do you owe anything else?  Scores at this time.

Thank you for the wealth of knowledge I have learned from these forums. I am logging off as of November 9, 2022. I wish everyone great success.

Re: How many points should I expect?

If you simply paid them off and the negative entries remain in your files, you will not see much, if any, increase in score.

Re: How many points should I expect?

My credit score is 588 right now. I just opened two credit cards with a 300$ and 500$ limit and carry a 0$ balance on both. There was 4 medical bills and a bill from an auto dealership. I owe 9500$ on my car and 6000$ on my student loans and that's all I owe.

How do I get those removed and how will it increase once I do?

Re: How many points should I expect?

I assume these were collections? If so, and you paid them, were they deleted also, as in "pay for delete," If not the only change you may see is an updated status on each to "Paid/Closed" or similar.

On the other hand if these were collections and they were deleted also, you could see a decent jump, if there are no other negatives on your report.

Re: How many points should I expect?

Well I just opened a dispute today to try and get the collections taken off my report. Everything else is good. I've gotten documentation of them being paid in full and I'm hoping that'll be enough. Unless I have to do more. I'm not really sure what else I can do to actually get those collections off. Any advice would be awesome.

Re: How many points should I expect?

You would need to send a GW letter out asking for them to delete, assuming you already paid them. If there are no other negatives on your report and these get deleted, it should result in a sizeable jump. Hard to guess how much.

Re: How many points should I expect?

I just realized you have 2 of the same threads going somehow. I'm not sure a dispute will work, especially since you've paid already. Sending out GW letters to.get them.deleted would be the next option.
