How to avoid collections showing on my credit report

Hi,

I have received a collections notice on behalf of AAA (Auto club group)... The issue is that I initiated an auto policy with AAA but they declined it as my wife had out of country license... I was under the impression that the small charge of ($66) would be adjusted because I was technically never under the insurance from them.

Anyhow, I now have this collections notice... How can I make sure that it dosent' show up on my credit report. I am open for payment as well

Please advise.

You didnt get the insurance for what you posted. Why have a CA hit on your file 7yrs for not even starting a policy?

Have you called AAA to ask why you owe the $66, since you believe you weren't "technically" covered? That's where I would start. Good luck.
