Do not ever, under any circumstances, take advice from CreditKarma. The advice they offer makes no sense. CreditKarma is good for seeing what is going on on your TU report. Details about what has updated or a new HP.  That is all. The credit scores are FAKO's. The advise is useless.

Starting Score: 693 TU FICO, 679 EQ FICO

Re: Increasing Available Credit to Improve Utilization Ratio.......

"As for you applying, what the hell are you doing? Trying to give advice here and you aren't taking it. You lowered your score by applying for no reason."

I know, I know (now), but like I said in the previous post I didn't see your post until this morning and I went by credit karma and others advice and already applied last night. But, thanks for the tough love, I can take it lol.

Chase said they needed to see a bit longer good payment history before recon last night. Should I attempt another call or don't they keep notes on the phone call history?

Call back. Explain you really want to build history. You have been using your credit responsibly. You really want to prove yourself. Anyway for them to give you any kind of limit. Be charming. If 2nd recon doesn't work, call back one more time

Re: Increasing Available Credit to Improve Utilization Ratio.......

I would be careful with CHase and recons. If my memory is correct some else posted the recon was another hard pull of credit. I would not ask for another recon.

Re: Increasing Available Credit to Improve Utilization Ratio.......

Nah.  If you just got denied, call.  They should ask you if they are going to pull again.  They shouldn't unless you are arguing that things are wrong on your report.

Re: Increasing Available Credit to Improve Utilization Ratio.......

I have a similar question. I need to purchase a new computer And I'm considering getting a new credit card rather than use credit from another card to avoid my utilization increasing. I figure if I got a store card the limit is likely to be higher And I would get a score boost because of the increase in credit available.  Any suggestions on this plan? And what store card might be good for this purchase? Planning on paying off within 90 days.
