My EX didn't change when I got BOA inquiry so it stayed at 719. I think the inquiry did have a negative impact but it was perfectly cancelled out by accounts aging. At that time I had 4 accounts at the time. The new account was SSL at 1 month old. The other 3 were 6 months old. AAoA was 5 months. At the time I had 2 prior inquiries from Amex and CO.
FICO 8 from Experian or similar? Hmmm on that second point though I will admit for short files testing is really hard as there are a lot of changes that happen... my own score graph from back in the day had a bunch of jumps likely somehow related to accounts (since inquiry aging has been pretty throughly debunked on both FICO 04 and 8 now).
Guess that brings up the question, how long before the first inquiry was your last update? First point seems legit to add, I'm skeptical of adding the second one though based on your assertion heh.
Thanks for the post!

Inquiry aging is debunked?
I checked my CCT on 4/04/17, I got inquiry on 4/05/17. What is your theory for the second point?Np.

Forgot about this thread mea culpa: a new inquiry being gained and an old inquiry falling off are the exact same points.
Which means there is no inquiry aging over the course of the year, it's just a summation of total inquiries into a bin, and score.
Yes,
Inquiries on Fico models do not lessen with age. They either count or they don't count. The timeframe of one year has been well established and communicated by Fico.
Contrastingly, VantageScore does count inquiries for 2 years. I recently lost 5 points going from 0 => 1 on EQ VS 3.0. In the past I gained 2 points at the two year age off point. Went from 1 => 0 INQ on EQ VS 3.0. So for VS 3.0 it appears there is a partial decrease in impact (possibly at 90 days or 1 year). VantageScore literature actually mentions a lessening of inquiry impact over time.
Is there a 6 month mark?

Not for FICO; maybe VS as TT intimates but that's something else to go look at I suppose.
That's really interesting regarding Vantage TT, I'm going to have to go look at that through some of my old reports and scores on CK to see if I can confirm that.

See below:
Well you know me bud: things seen in a 3rd party (that includes whatever software development group hired by TU in this case or even if they developed it internally) monitoring app aren't reference and I would explicitly note that they don't say they count for the entire two years.
Wish we got reason codes from more than just Alliant, and even those look weird when I view them.
I know for a fact based on my data that the inquiries count on VS3 for 2 years. Got explicit data on that which was shared over one year ago. Statement based on personal data. (Note: I do believe I have some direct publications from VantageScore referencing the two years).
Checked EQ and TU VS3 scores on CK within 3 days of the EQ INQ dropping off report. EQ score increased 4 points. One point increase in TU VS3 and one point increase in EX VS3 when checked on credit.com. As mentioned before, once the INQ dropped off (at 2 years), EQ score no longer had a nominal 3 point lower score than TU and EX. All three CRA VS3 scores matched exactly - month over month with a couple exceptions that I attributed to update timing. Not sure if I saved a screen shot with the EQ VS3 score but will add if I find one.
Regarding Fico inquiry bins - it looks like I took a big hit in EQ Bankcard Fico 8 going from 0 to 1 INQ in Nov 2017. That's one of the biggest drops I have seen and it's mostly due to the INQ, not cards reporting. Note, my second reason statement is now too many inquiries in the last 12 months. See below.
Nice find TT.
I'm going to catch the EQ 1->0 inquiry bit in Februrary next year... decided not to bother with the EX ones as appeared to be plenty of EQ datapoints around those inquiry counts from before and I'm skeptical of inquiries being different between differing scorecards anyway... likewise somewhat doubtful of their being handled differently between bureaus too.
