I have a question. I am post bankruptcy (chapter 13, discharged a week ago) and thought I would check credit reports. Started with Experian and did their credit plus so I could compare scores from the other two reports. It was odd. Experian says I am a 596, but Transunion says 532, so I created an account on Transunion to check things and when I logged in, it says it is a 688? Now I am really lost. Am I missing something?
I see. Okay...I understand now. Now I just need to figure out how to build that up now. My wife and I had a business we opened with a partner and well..it didn't work out well..so we now have this issue. Oh well. Thanks for the info.
Any recommendations on building it up?
The only thing left is our car and our mortgage. And they are not reporting right now. They were not on the payment plan.
@Anonymous you may want to stop by rebuilding forum. You'll get some good ideas on how to proceed in addition to what Oldman suggested.

Then get a few secured cards, Discover/CapOne, use them, pay in full every month, sit on them for as long as you can. The longer you can go without applying the quicker your scores will recover, the quicker doors will open to better options with good terms.
Absolutely reccommend......I'm starting to get into the mid 600's after having my vantage scores in the low 400's two years ago. This was the path I used. Also have a few sub prime cards, which I'll be cancelling soon enough.
Also, I know people crap all over this card, but the AMEX Green Charge card is a nice foot in the door to AMEX and they take chances on people who are improving their credit. I got mine with a 637 FICO score. Wait though on those APPS once you get some secured cards under your belt. Credit One also isn't as bad people make it out to be, unnecessary fees of course, but in the rebuilding process. Having an unsecured line can help the scores boost as well.
