Need an 11 point boost ASAP. Does openining a Secured CC bump your score?

Hi guys,

I'm in a bit of a bind and need to make 11pts ASAP.  I've got some medical bills in collections reporting that I can't afford to pay and I'm hoping to be able to get a bump before the end of the month.   I called 4 free credit counciling places yesterday.   The first 2 women I told my sob story to definately agreed that opening a Secured CC as soon as the account established on my credit would bump it up.  The other two.. 1 didn't understand what I was asking and the last said that shes never heard of that happening and asked another councilor in the room and they haven't heard of that.

So my question is does establishing a secured credit card bump your score up? (Not waiting to recieve it, using it and paying it off.)

If so by around how much and which is the fastest at reporting them open? I've heard US Bank as one.

PS:  I have no credit score on FICO 08. The score is coming from Exp FIRM2 for an apt rental.  I haven't had a credit card in 20 years.

Yes i would get a secured card.... I really dont know how fast it will bump you.  It took about a month for me to get a bump but it will depend on how fast they report.

Opening your first 3 credit cards gives you a Fico bump up, the biggest one is typically the first card to report.
