It seems that I just cannot win. I have over 90K available credit. I let my 25% paid off car loan report lol and my Chase CC report a $122 balance on my EX. So I have 2 out of 7 accounts reporting a balance. I closed 2 cards this month but that action did not lower my EQ SW score. Both accounts have reported as closed by me. Bottom line is FICO considers me a risk with $122 in credit card debt. I also paid off $5K on a car loan I took out late September 2008. I think EX wants me to let 2 credit cards report a balance. Talk about counterintuitive. This scoring system is insane. My score is 25 points lower than it was 1 year ago.

Do you think that maybe you took a bath on the new car loan? I can't imagine that it's the two cards to report thing.
Nope. My EX score was 704 last month. UT was 2%. 2 cards reported a balance. Score was 692 just now. The month after the car loan reported my score dove to 696. I started this journey in May 2007. My score was 674. Utilization was 56%. My 2 public records are 20 months older. I only have 3 accounts opened in the past year. 5 FICO scoreable inquiries the same as when my score was 717 this past Summer. Got to be the fact that I only let 1 card report a balance. Credit history is 13 years. AAofA is over 3 1/2 years.

Puzzled **scratches head**. I guess you're gonna have to try it and see if the score goes back up. That would be surprising if that were the case.
Can't be anything else. I pulled my EX backdoor after FICO. There are no other changes. Believe me I know if anything changes. Probably too well.

Starting Score: 469If you are getting EX from My Fico it is a bummer. My score is 713 on My Fico as they do not cooperate with each other. I use Credit Expert from EX for my monitoring service and my score is 761. It's really strange.
They used to have a score illustrator but i can't find it anymore. It would tell you how many inqs would impact your score and by how much How many accts, utilization, etc and you could slide this little orange button and find out the impact. It was great but i don't know what happened to it,.

All scores are from FICO. There are none other of any consequence.

What comments (all negative, of course) were on the EX report with the higher score, and what's on the current one?
