Re: Our Forums' FICO High Achievers: Who has at least one FICO Score of 760 or above?

I've been here since 2008 did EVERYTHING RIGHT can't touch above 760. Bank ran hard inquiry this month with CC debt and knocked me down to 740 experian 723 equifax. I had reached 760 on both. Even with less that 1% utilization I can not break 800. Not even close. Whet else can I do ? Transunion was 774 before this hard pull I have 3 total now 2 13 months old. Experian and tree and union has no inquiries that show.

Loan will be great for your Fico long term but only after 6 months. When I got my new one I took a 40 point hit but it came back up 6 months payments and low utilization on cc. It helped my score reach about 10 points higher than where I was before but again only after 6 months of perfect car payment and perfect history on all CC

If it's any help to you, my EQ has just three inquiries, its FICO 04 is down to 794 from 817. Do you have any installment loans?

Paramed:  I don't recall your mentioning it, but how old is your credit history?  I think that 20 years is a target for 800+ scores.  Mine are 19 years under TU and EX; and 23 years with EQ.

Re: Our Forums' FICO High Achievers: Who has at least one FICO Score of 760 or above?

7 years and all 7 never a late payment. Is it possible at this point to reach 800 ? Do I need a mortgage ? I know it would help but do I need it to reach 800 with 7 years credit history since rebuild ? Never a bankruptcy no negatives at all now. Had one but cleared it up and it was removed. That was last year or before gave me 35 point bump up. Nothing to do now but wait use CC pay perfect and maybe add CC. I have 5. Pay them perfect. Always have always will. I think it only takes once to hit bottom rung of ladder to know you never will allow yourself to return. Now I'm obsessed with FICO as close to 850 and keeping it around 820 plus as possible. Thanks for reading and anymore input.

Maybe someone with 850 across the board could post again how old their credit history is.  All I've experienced is that my only 850 shows 23 years; while the two 'lesser' scores have 19 years.  And, I've never been late for any payment in my whole life.  I do have one mortgage (since 2006); one installment almost paid off; and one credit card with a new $75 balance that will be paid off this month.   So, I believe I deserve 850 across the board.  But, for some reason (maybe the 19 years), FICO doesn't think so.

Hang in there though; if 20 years is the goal, you have 13 more to go.  Just keep doing what you're doing, but check the FICO 'conditions' for getting higher scores.

Re: Our Forums' FICO High Achievers: Who has at least one FICO Score of 760 or above?

I've been on myfico.com most of that 7 years. I don't think there is a forum or FICO advise ccolumn online I have not read. I have studied it read books from library you name I have done it. Only thing I think at this point is my sister add me to hers as hers is 20+ years with all 3 840+. She uses her cards very little but just enough to make her scores fluctuate 10 points or so.

I don't have any 850s yet but until very recently (don't ask) I had EX 848, TU 847 and EQ 843. My oldest account is 20.5 years and AAoA is 11.9 years. There are no loans of any kind remaining on my report, it's all cards. I'm hoping that by the time my few INQs age off I'll hit the elusive 850.

I don't have any evidence but I suspect there's a magic point somewhere around 20 years that puts you in the top bucket  / scorecard and makes you eligible for an 850. It may be a combination of your oldest account and your AAoA instead of just being the age of your oldest account.

@LilyBee Just out of curiosity why is there a 4 year difference in the age of you reports between the CRAs? Is there an old account that only appears on one of them?

Re: Our Forums' FICO High Achievers: Who has at least one FICO Score of 760 or above?

My FICOs have been in the 800's for several months now with 5.8 AAoA and 13 years Oldest Account. Have a mortgage, installment loan, bank credit cards and department store cards. All the right mix. Utilization is about 3% (too high) and need to drop to 1% for my max scores. Played with the live credit bureaus to find what works for my credit file. Took out a new installment loan after paying off another one and it bit my scores hard ... coming back a little. What we all have to realize is scores give a lot of weight to "patience" and "oldest account" and "average age of account" virtually cannot be played with. You earn your stripes over time. This hurry ... hurry ... hurry mindset will not overcome two very key elements of the scoring system.

Me too, like your sister, and my history is less than 20 years. There is no such cutoff.
