Hello All,

Got a score watch update today from myfico.com, a jump from 742 to 790..  Thanks to everyone for the insights and knowledge to get this done.  I'm going to wait a week or so before pulling the report.

Your FICO® score at Equifax is

790 as of April 4, 2011

Excellent work. Congratulations!!

Re: Our Forums' FICO High Achievers: Who has at least one FICO Score of 760 or above?

I'm replying to my own post because I question the integrity of myfico's scoring rationale.

On 1/5/11, my EQ was 824; EX was 790, and TUfako was 962 (I know that doesn't count with myfico.  I was trying to get my TU score, and apparently True Credit (fako), unbeknownst to me is also under the Trans Union website, or some sleight of hand URL.  Anyway, at that time, I had no credit card charges, but refinanced my mortgage to 15 years from 30 years.

In February, I charged $400 on something, but paid it off in March.  MyFico scores on 3/24/11 were:  TU-782 and EQ 795.   MyFico said that my scores were lowered because of the reason given in my last post ("not currently demonstrating active revolving credit management.").  So now I charged $38 on a credit card, which I will pay off when the bill comes in April.  Think they will lower my score again for paying off the bill?

Seems like MyFico is enabling consumers with this type of hokey manipulation of scores.

Grrrrrrrrrr

Re: Our Forums' FICO High Achievers: Who has at least one FICO Score of 760 or above?

I justed checked my score on ScoreWatch today, and my Experian score is at 763 (up from about ~740 from 6 months ago).  I am wondering though, what else I can do to raise my score into the 800s.  The one aspect that is lacking in my credit report is my AAoA (3 year average, 6 years as longest account) as I am only 23.  However, because the length of accounts opened only represents 15% of your score, I doubt this is the only reason my score is where it is.  My profile is: 4 CCs and 1 SL (no mortgages or auto loans), and I have never been late on any payments.  Could my mix of credit also be taking a hit?

Starting Scores (lender pull 3/27/10): 759 (EQ), 752 (TU), 749 (EX)
Current Scores (myFICO 4/4/11): 768 (EQ)
Goal Scores: 800

Equifax....not Experian. I miss the days we could pull an EX FICO from here. Smiley Sad

Your mix is fine and I've seen examples in these forums (couple of mods were like this) where the poster hit 800 with only a CC or two, but had a very long history to back it all up. I think in the end, time is what you need. For max points, make sure all but one of your CCs is at $0 and get the remaining to report a balance of under 9% of the CL. Keep paying the SL as scheduled.

Interesting you should mention it. My one card with a balance was at 0.x%. Then it was at 9.5%, and my EQ was still 813. Smiley Tongue

Also, I wonder if LilyBee's EQ at 824 might be a non-FICO score?

What I have said more than once and what llecs and others have said is that this approach seems to work the best for most people. No tactic will work the same for everyone.

My EQ 824 was a FICO score.  After I paid off the $400 charge, it was dropped to 795.
