Score Drop From Charge Card Balance?

So I paid my AMEX Green before the statement but for some reason it reported $72. No big deal but my Score Watch just reported my score dropped because of it. I though charge card balances aren't factored in to fico scores?

On  TU98 (my FICO TU) it is.

Just went from 692 to 651. Not happy!

ScoreWatch is an EQ Beacon 5 score which doesn't factor in charge cards. That is very strange indeed.

Re: Score Drop From Charge Card Balance?

If I understand this correctly, number of accounts with balances and total non-installment debt are both affected by a balance on charge cards in all of the FICO formulas.

Starting Score: 693 TU FICO, 679 EQ FICO
Current Score: FICO 8 = 844(9/15) EQ, 827 TU, 811 EX (7/15); mortgage FICO= 758 (9/15)EQ5, 797 TU4, 748 EX2 (7/15)
Goal Score: 750+, but shooting for the 800's
Hyatt Visa Sig ($23K), Amex BCP (24.8K), BofA Travel Rew Sig (22.5K), B&N World MC (22.3K), Amex RP Gold (NPSL w/ S&T), Cash+ Sig (20K),United Mil+ExpSig (16.3K), FNBO Visa (13.1K), Hilton Surpass (10K), Freedom Visa Sig (8.6K), Disc It (16.4K), Citi Dia Pref MC (3.7K),Sam's MC (10K), Wally (7.5K), JCP(5.3K), Costco (2K)

+1.  There is very likely something else going on that caused the score drop.

Re: Score Drop From Charge Card Balance?

Talk about coincidence. I just got a SW alert. My Amex Green increased by $421 but my score didn't budge at all. Must be something else.

Re: Score Drop From Charge Card Balance?

Happens to me every time. Partial AF from the Platinum reported in March and my EQ went from 772 to 756. April, reported zero and EQ popped back to 772. Just a recent example for you.

Re: Score Drop From Charge Card Balance?

I got a SW notice yesterday for having a balance on my cc.  It went from $0 balance to $120.  Apparently my payment didn't post before the update to the CR's (I try to always stay at $0, but use to stay "active").  The SW notice specifically said the 5 pt drop was because of my balance, which is 12% of my cl.
