nope it dont make sense. i share your frustration. i recently took at 27 point drop for being removed as an au on my fathers account. i thought that was a bit much. my utilization has never been over 1-2% ever. with or without the au account. i agree, it makes no sense. reasons given from the score provider (experian for me) dont make sense either. makes me scared to use my credit. i cant afford another gotcha moment like that.
FWIW, my vantage scores provided by CK, credit.com, and us bank are darn near perfect and were not affected by the AU removal like fico was.

Was the AU card older than your other accounts? If so, you may have lost the aging benefits of the card.
No, my usage is currently under 10%. I only used the card to keep it from being closed bc Ive had it a long time. This is so frustrating!
i have to think you will get all or most of those points back after you paydown the card
you used it for 20% though - not 10%
i get that it is frustrating though - no doubt

How many accounts with a balance do you have reporting?

it was on my account for about 2 years. my oldest reporting card is well over a decade. my aaoa is 13yrs on EQ and 9yrs according to experian. ive had changes in the past regarding au accounts and never had this kind of reaction from mr. fico. i was shocked to see such a sharp drop. just like the OP had their drop for reasons that just dont make sense. i just dont understand why the harsh action for something relatively minor. as always, time will fix it. but its still very frustrating.
Yes, 2O% of that card, but my overall is less than 10%....I actually returned the item so we'll see what next month's scores are.
Not sure I understand your question, all accounts or just credit cards...I have very low usage. Only a couple of cards with low balances.

All accounts. There is a FICO scoring metric for accounts with a balance, it could be affecting your score if you crossed a threshold.

Did you have any other AU accounts when this one was terminated? I experienced some oddities when my last AU account was terminated and have a few wild theories as to what may have caused the score change but I don't have enough data to support those theories.
