@jawbrkr wrote:Correct me if I am wrong but I am guessing his scores are that high off the bat because they are not truly his scores. They are the paimary user's scores on the cards he is an AU on. As for applying for prime cards (Amex Platinum, CSP), dont you have to show enough history on your own, as opposed to being an AU, before they can seriously consider you for prime cards with higher limits?
Not quite. The AU does not inherit the primary cardholder's scores, just the accounts (e.g. account age, balance, credit limit, etc.). You can't have a credit score on a card -- scores are run on a person's report as a whole.
The primary card holder might have a worse FICO 8 than his AU, or it might be about the same,, or it might be a lot better.
Congrats on the good scores (mid 750's in real FICO terms) and it is supported by the AU cards. With only two months on your own card, if the AU were not there, you may not even generate a score at all yet.
Why not apply for a Freedom card to get a starter with Chase? Freedom plus Discover is a decent set of cards. After a time with the Freedom card, a CSR / CSP app would be quite likely successful.
Check Chase's website to see if you prequalify for any of their cards. Their prequals are legit. So if you come up with any cards, your chances are good.
Does chase have some rule about 1 year?

I mean with SouthJamaica's comment
"3. Forget about the Chase Sapphire cards until you've been out there for at least a year, unless you go into a branch and are told you're prequalified, in which case you're good to go."
know if chase has similar restrictions not that it matters in my case. I was just curious.
