Setting Score Watch Goal Score

I have had a SW subscription for several years now.  I am just wondering how those of you with SW subscriptions set your Target Score.  In my case, I currently have a score of 717.  I have my target score set to 718, assuming that means that as soon as my score goes to 718 or higher, I will be notified.

How about a score decrease?  If for some reason my score were to drop to 716 (again, I am currently at 717), would I be notified?

Thanks!

Set your goal to match your score and you will get an update any time there is a change whether it is an increase or a decrease.

Thanks.  To confirm, you are saying that if my current socre is 717, then I should have my goal score set at 717?

Yes, that's correct. Just remember to change it to match whenever you get a change in score so you're aware of all changes.

Re: Setting Score Watch Goal Score

Not sure what you are talking about... Mine is 687 and I have a goal set of 700.

I get notified whenever it goes up or down and haven't once changed it to match my score.

Re: Setting Score Watch Goal Score

Looks like we may have differing opinions on this.  Can anyone confirm if indeed we should set our goal score to our current score to receive notification of all changes, or if any higher number will trigger an alert to us?

Re: Setting Score Watch Goal Score

Go to your Score Watch settings and Under your Custom Alert settings and where you set your target score, click "change". Now move your cursor over top of "Help" and it will say:

"To track improvement in your score, set your target score to be 10 points above your current score.

To track any change at all to your score, set the target score to be the same as your current score.

Remember to review/update your target score each time your FICO Score changes."

Noob's advice was correct.  SW has different types of alerts.  For the score alerts, you will get an alert if your score increases or decreases at all if you set the target to your current score.  There are also account activity/balance alerts, which often include a score increase or decrease but might be no change at all.  You can also set SW to alert with any balance changes.... if you have a few credit cards and the balances fluctuate, you will get SW updates very frequently with these types of alerts, whether there was a score change or not.

But...  to be updated in the circumstance that your score changes with no account activity (maybe AAoA increased or similar), then you should set the score alert target to your current score which will give an update for any score change up or down, regardless of whether or not there was some change to trigger the balance alerts.
