So irritating score changing big time!

My Transunion score went from 717 yesterday to 667 today. I have no bad things on my Transunion report. Back in June/July/August my Transunion was 738-741 then in September it fell to 680. Why does my score flucuate like this?

Thanks

Re: So irritating score changing big time!

Which score? Or where did you get the score from?

EDIT: I mean, is this a FICO or Vantage? (or did this come from myFICO or Credit Karma or elsewhere?)

Did you see the scores from the other bureaus, too? Did they not change? If you saw them and they didn't change, something in the reports had to be different because they use the same scoring model (unless they started at different points, and perhaps the other two were already weighing something that only now just showed up on TransUnion).

They stay true within a few points. Transunion is clean as a whistle.

Re: So irritating score changing big time!

Boy, I don't know. I hope someone a with a little better grasp of FICO scoring comes along to offer some insight.

I'll commiserate with you, though. I know it can be really frustrating. I saw an 8-point drop in a score that I was completely expecting to drop today (and wouldn't have been surprised at a lot more) and that wasn't any fun. I can only imagine what a sinking feeling it would be to see a 50 point drop for no apparent reason. Smiley Sad

Are there any negatives reporting on EX and EQ to bring them below 700? Any sort of late or charge off of any kind?

Re: So irritating score changing big time!

Sounds like my AAoA drops. TU tends to view some of my closed accounts as "open" and when they fall off it hurts much more than my other two CR's. I have 7 more accounts falling off this year. I will be left with all accounts 3 years or younger on my reports.  My TU score is about 50 points higher than my other two (very similar to yours)... Same data on all 3.

Re: So irritating score changing big time!

Do you check Credit Karma? It is a VS but you may be able to see the variance. If you do not see any changes from last week, I would think Elim has to be right - a closed account that fell off. Sorry, thats a big swing. Good Luck!

Re: So irritating score changing big time!

My EQ and EX scores barely move, they have been the same -1 or +1 one point for pretty much the past year. TU can flucuate 20-30 points for me weekly. I think I may have a split file on Tu and accounts appear then disappear then come back and etc.
