There are 2 reason codes related to inquiries on TU 4 (one of the "mortgage scores"):
8 | Too many inquiries over last 12 months |
19 | Date of last inquiry too recent |
Has anyone seen code 19, Date of Last Inquiry too Recent, listed as a score factor for TU4?
I've never seen it and I've had a myFICO Premier subscription since just before I started my revolving credit history with 2 cards.
But that doesn't mean much because I could have easily had a long list of factors ahead of that one, with such a new credit file.
(Note that EX2 and EQ5 do not have a reason statement like this one. They do have code 8 for inquiries over last 12 months.)
Yes it is a FICO score reason for TU04. The FICO score reasons are in order of impact either positive or negative.

I'm not sure on some of their public documentation; unfortunately some of it is conflated with industry options from what I've seen and don't apply to the Classic score... not sure if your source has that issue or not. I'd like to see a screenshot personally from the service here of it, but like you suggest Cassie it's going to be way down the list in importance.
I'm trying to remember but I think I only got to 3 reason codes in the derogatory scorecards when I was inquiry free (last 12 months) on TU FICO 4, it either doesn't exist there or 1 inquiry always is above it (#5 slot) and it doesn't go past 12 months which would make sense anyway.

I was still getting 'Recently opened new account' on TU4 at AoYA/AoYRA 1yr 2mo, so I went looking for reason codes that had anything to do with tracking time. And now I haven't seen 'Recently opened' on TU4 in any of the last 8 months since opening AMEX/Discover.
@Revelate: Here is one of the pages from one source I have. It's on another one from FICO, listed under 'TransUnion FICO Risk Score. Classic'.
I now wonder if 'too recent' means 'less than 6 months'.
Interesting Cassie.
All my data was on EQ FICO 5, same model as TU FICO 4 but there are differences by bureau. TU FICO 4 unfortunately was a score that we never really had good access to other than the monthly updates here if you have the premier service; as such it never really got as much focus as some of the others as the old TU QM was on FICO 98 and frankly the Scorewatch product was better so most people here subscribed to that one instead.
It might also only exist in the clean scorecards too, some other age metrics are suppressed in the derogatory scorecards, wonder if it's specific to the top 8 or even a subset of the top 8.
