UGH! FICO must be broken. ;)

My reports are identical, except that I have more inquiries and a public record on EX.  Yet EX FICO is 654 and EQ is 639.  UGH!  I wanted to refi today.  Not happening.  I don't get why EX is higher than EQ?  I hate PLUS, lol.  It is so misleading.

FICO: EQ 814 | TU 847 | EX ? (Started in the low 500's... you can do it!)

Amex BCE $25000, Amex AP $20000, SFFCU Visa $15000 + LOC $5000, USAA Amex $6000, USAA MC $7000, Cap1 $9500, Freedom $12000, Slate $500, Barclays "RIP" SM $11500, USBank Cash+ $12500, Citi Diamond $11200, Citi Double Cash $12000, Care Credit $13500k.

You said "PLUS". Are you comparing a FAKO with a FICO?

Sorry!  I see where I was confusing.  I'm comparing EX FICO to EQ FICO.  I would think they would be flip-flopped--  I would think that EQ should be higher than EX.  But then I don't write the book.  Smiley Wink

(but in the same breathe I complained about PLUS scores at 684 misleading/frustrating. I didn't think my FICOs would be that vastly different than FAKOs.)

Re: UGH! FICO must be broken. ;)

I've had several pulls with FAKO and FICO comparisons ranging 100+ points when pulled the same day. As always, YMMV.

If you pulled EX and EQ FICO from myFICO on the same day, and saw a 15 point difference, then I wouldn't be too concerned. The FICO formula differs. IME, my EQ FICO weighed util over my EX FICO, whereas my EX FICO hated baddies  more. That alone can account for the difference. Plus the FICO version from EX is newer than the EQ FICO. Aside from a slightly different score range, your EX FICO has more scoring buckets, factors in inquiries differently, as well as baddies.

Ahhhh, interesting.  I did not know that they factor differently.  Thanks!

Re: UGH! FICO must be broken. ;)

It's different because each CRA commissioned FICO to create a new score and each is unique to that CRA. That's why all 3 will never match, even with precisely the same info.
