experian jump from inquiry

I got a Fico alert about a new inquiry on my report. Also updated my score, by 48 points. I pulled my credit report and not one single thing is different from last

Month. Trying to figure these score models out is crazy.

..of course things are different from last month ...those "things" may not be evident from a cursory comparison of your reports but they are there in the FICO score model ...your accounts aged, you may have moved into another weighting tier, you have another month of good payments which may have increased the confidence factors, etc, etc, etc ...posters here repeatedly assert that nothing changed ...or ONLY this thing changed ...all of which "may" be true as far as the CRA data is concerned but totally ignores that it is FICO, not the CRAs, who evaluate that data ...and FICO uses a myriad of weighted factors in its algorithms to determine its scores, much if not most of which is not evident in the raw data from the CRAs ...hth

Re: experian jump from inquiry

No new payments posted to my only credit card showing, nor to my secured loan. I have two charge offs, which from my understanding affect the fico score until deletion. Two collections accounts that have been paid for two months. Only thing different is the disputes I put through for the charge offs and collections, but I thought that disputes do nothing for scoring unless the tradeline is updated or deleted.

Same thing happened to me today. Amex pulled from applying and EX jumped 11 points to 710!  Not complaining in the least. Feels good being in the 7's!

As Lemmus said, your AAoA or credit history length may have changed. Or your new accounts may be considered to have reached maturity. Sometimes this puts you into a different category of credit risk and changes your score significantly.
