Can We Get Full Firefox Compatibility, Please?

It's been a year now, and still we millions of Firefox users don't have access to the full toolbox for posting and editing. Every other forum I frequent--and there's quite a few, from political to gaming to other--has full Firefox support, and lets me embed images and links in my posts.

Thanks.

Re: Can We Get Full Firefox Compatibility, Please?

Yes, with FF3 now out this board is worthless to me as it doesn't scroll correctly. The problem is the fixed background, no site should ever use it. The problem doesn't happen in IE but I refuse to use IE... How any site doesn't work with FF, Opera and Safari is nuts to me. We are not talking a lot of work here.

As of now this board is dead I can't use it, the scroll problem keeps showing up. Get rid of the fixed background!

Barbarino,

I use FireFox as well, and I haven't experienced any issues with the scroll bar. Would you be able to elaborate a bit?

Re: Can We Get Full Firefox Compatibility, Please?

In FF there is an issue dealing with fixed backgrounds when it comes to scrolling. Some FF users will get it at different times on different sites. For example on another site I read it shows up maybe 1 out of ten visits. The scrolling is very very very painfully slow to the point you can't use the site. On this site for me it happens 100% of the time. If you notice when you scroll the background doesn't scroll, it's fixed, this is what causes the problem.

Re: Can We Get Full Firefox Compatibility, Please?

Barbarino, I'm thinking this may be a bug with Firefox. I haven't noticed it myself, and I grabbed the 3.0 download the first day.

Of course, there's still the deeper, ongoing problem with much of the Forums' functionality not being available to Firefox users. That really ought to be addressed by Lithium, and sooner rather than later.

EDIT: or a plug-in you have, Barbarino. Have you tried disabling your add-ons?

Re: Can We Get Full Firefox Compatibility, Please?

Not to negate the complaint - if it happens it happens. But I am using Firefox 2 and I have no scrolling problem at all. So I wonder if it could be an issue with some other add on or ???

Re: Can We Get Full Firefox Compatibility, Please?

I get this very slow scrolling issue as well as periodic freeze/lockup when visiting. This is the only forum of the many I visit that has this issue with Firefox which I have used exclusively for years. No idea what the cause is but hopefully it will be addressed.

So is this Firefox compatibility problem the reason why things like

and are not working correctly for me ? A long time ago I find it easier to add these things manually (i.e., by typing these myself). But, as best as I can recall, this is the first forum I've used where these are not working.

Re: Can We Get Full Firefox Compatibility, Please?

I do all my editing in Firefox. I didn't know anything about html, so I just started replies to IE posts and clicked Quote to bring up their post and learn the formatting. The < > gets old, but it works.

I just wish that I could figure how to set columns and so forth. It's tough when you're trying to display text and numbers in a clear manner.
