How to add an uploaded pic for avatar?

Pic has been uploaded. As per the help file, "images", I'm going to profile --> my settings --> avatars,  but the only option is "From the Community" where the help file suggests I should be able to select "From Uploaded Images."

Please advise on how to proceed. Thank you.

Welcome back to the forum @BrutalBodyShots.

When you go to your profile page there should be a small edit icon to the top right of your avatar.  From there it should allow you to change your avatar from uploaded images, or your computer.

Thank you, @JoeRockhead. Using that tiny icon you referenced gets me to the same place using the path I originally indicated. My only option from there is to select something from the default list of avatars, not from my uploaded images.

Are you sure you meet the member level requirements? I think they're listed in the help thread.

I was thinking it could be a requirement issue that hasn't been satisfied yet. I don't see anything in the help section though that discloses requirements for a custom avatar via uploaded pic. If you can find it and can referenced me the location that would be great.

Looks like you need regular contributor status. There's another thread that gives pretty close parameters for advancing status.

BBS does meet the requirement as "Member."  
However there is more to the secret sauce  than just named rank and could be a special use case for @Thomas_Thumb to decipher.

In the past the custom avatar feature was only enabled after reaching a rank of Regular Contributor. Has that changed?

Pasting pictures in posts can be done at member rank but, that's a different function.

One thing BBS can do to accelerate ranking up is log in and out 5-10 times a day. He has good post count progress and should have sufficient minutes on line for 2 ranks higher (Valued Member vs Member) However, I suspect log-ins are lacking (refer to rank up table criteria).

50 posts will be enough for new contributor status but that rank requires atleast 50 log ins and 600 minutes on-line. Regular Contributor requires a minimum of 100 posts and 100 log ins. Minutes on-line is also a criteria ( minimum 840 required) but it usually not the limiting factor, so harder to nail down.

Ooh yes you are right @Thomas_Thumb.

Avatars do  open  up at Regular Contributor while the siggy is earlier at Member.   Silly me thinking it would be the opposite.
