Issues adding HTML in signature

I know this has probably been asked quite often, but I've searched the forums and read all the similar threads and can't find a solution. I'm trying to add images in my signature, and I'm using the correct HTML format, but when I save it, it wipes it out and replaces it with two HTML line breaks, and has an error message that says that the HTML was invalid and removed. Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Issues adding HTML in signature

To upload images I know you need a certain rank and this could possibly apply to HTML as well although not 100% sure... Do some posts and within a few days of participation it should allow your images to show.  If you would like I can certainly test some HTML in your signature and see if the images show?

Thanks, I figured it was some sort of spam protection measure. I'll keep posting for the next few days. In the meantime if you could give it a shot that would be awesome. I'm just attempting to add the small credit card images in my signature is all.

Posted an image in your signature using the correct html?  Granted it is hosted by us...  I can expand it to outside image if needed, please feel to try to put in the image you are trying to use URL

edit added a card to signature as well.. so not a MF restriction.. Look at HTML and see if you can figure it out otherwise will try to help more if needed, but should get you on the right path as CC is hosted on another server external to MF

Re: Issues adding HTML in signature

I went into my signature settings and I saw the HTML that you put in. I literally just clicked once inside of the box and clicked "Save" and got the same message. And, it wiped everything out. It must be something to do with my permissions. I didn't change anything that you put in - just tried to save to test it. This is the error message I received:

"Your setting's value has been changed because invalid HTML was found. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the value and re-submit the form when you are satisfied."

Re: Issues adding HTML in signature

Hmm let me throw in the most basic HTML I can again and see if it does it to you if so probably a permission level issue.. Although this certainly is strange as all I am doing is modifying your profile and "shouldn't" have any special abilities other then ability to edit it just like you do... Although Lithium is a bit weird being the forum software used on the site and don't know all the in/out of it.

Strange...

Same thing. I saw the code you put in. For the heck of it I tried to change the align to left and save, and got the same message. Even tried using a different browser. As soon as I save it, it disappears and is replaced with the error message. Must be a permissions issue with the forum software, maybe because of you being a moderator you can override it, but I'm prohibited to put it in my signature for now. Smiley Indifferent

Oh well - thanks for trying, I'll keep messing with it further as I progress.

Hi @Anonymous, you'll get the ability to add/edit HTML in your signature once you reach the rank of 'Member'.  Smiley Happy

Until then if you need a seeding or spade added a moderator can add it for you, but after it's added if you need to make additional changes you'll need us to re-add the seedling or spade again (you won't be able to save your changes if there's HTML present, as you've experienced).
