I'm hoping someone can clarify for me why my scores updated only after I purchased my new CRs. For example, my TransUnion score on the new CR is 20 points higher than what MyFICO was reporting. The increase was because an old collection was removed from my CR earlier this week. Why did that change not automatically trigger an alert, nor raise my MyFICO score? Only after purchasing my credit report did I see the changes, and only then did my MyFICO scores update.

I emailed support asking why I didn't get an update after my collection came off, apparently on TU that is not reported to Myfico. only certain events trigger updates. So the next time you get a balance change or an actual triggering effect it would update the score. Apparently each CRA has different triggers. Not sure how that does not constitute a score update, but it is their sandbox and we just get to pee er play in it.
Thank you for contacting myFICO Customer Care. With the FICO 3 Bureau Credit Monitoring product, you will not receive alerts of accounts (collection, public records) removed from the credit report. If you wish to view the updates of account information removed from the credit report, you will have to view a more recent report.
Thank you, but why did my FICO score not automatically update when my TransUnion score imrpoved?

Disregard my earlier response. I was reading your response on my cell phone and only got the last part. Your explanation helps. Like you, though, I'm at a loss as to why something that triggers a 20 point TU change wouldn't also trigger a FICO score change.
Apparently a score change only triggers an update after a qualifying event. Mine does the same thing. Im still sitting in limbo on TU waiting for them to put the data in. Ive got a new account, 3 balance updates and a collection falling off which have all been updated on ex/eq but TU has not updated.
Each of the CRAs have different triggering events that generate an alert. They sell their alert services to banks who are more concerned with sudden negatives than positives so while something like a new collection will generate an alert a dropped collection is of no interest to a bank. Alerts also generalte FICO scores. MyFico doesn't monitor credit reports but reports alerts and associated FICO scores when the alerts are triggered. Fortunately the alerts are generated by enough factors that an updated FICO score will usually be forthcoming when one of them kicks in.
This is why I stopped paying for this scam. They clearly state that I am paying for fico score monitoring and report monitoring, and quite frankly I am not getting niether of them. You have to pay for the 3B report to get your current credit scores, as your scores might or might not update fdepending on changes. Credit Karma updated the next day when I had 2 inquiries. Fico still hasn't gotten an alert after about 2 months now. It's a scam.
