Re: Feedback wanted: myFICO site design improvements

Hey Hauling,

Related question we've been kicking around...

I assume you've bookmarked the login page begin that's the first thing you want to do almost any time you come to myFICO (because of the forums).

We've been kicking aorund the idea of making it so you can log in on any page of the site (with a login/pw box at the very top of the page, for example).

If we did that, would that change where you have your bookmark?

Paul

I think it would be great to have a chart or graph that tracked your fico score for each purchase that you could view in your profile anytime.  It would stay available to track your progress.

Thanks.  myFICO is great!

Sure! I don't care where I log in. If you put a log-in box on whichever page you have promos and whatnot, I'm fine with that.

Really, when I think about it, a separate log-in page seems redundant.

Just so logging in takes me to my poor battered scores, so I can remind myself why I'm here. Smiley Wink In other words, I don't want to go to the forums immediately. Sometimes I have to pull myself together first!

I like the idea of being able to log in on any page!

Re: Feedback wanted: myFICO site design improvements

I think it would be great if forum users could get their FICO score for free once every 52 weeks. Every 12 months would be better, but either way it would be nice for a lot of us if we could just get a year to year bead on how our credit is really doing so we know what lenders might be thinking before we ask.

Re: Feedback wanted: myFICO site design improvements

When hitting the back button on the browser after reading a particular topic in a forum, you should be brought back to same area on the web page.  Currently if the particular thread you are reading is in the middle of the web page and you hit the back button, you need to scroll down to get to the next thread. You should not have to scroll down, you should be brought back to where you were on the forum web page.

Not sure if this fits under suggestions for site design, but I would love to see a tab function for posts, especially the ability to create columns.

Or if this currently exists, someone please clue me in!!

Also, I have noticed that since the forums upgrade several months ago, IE users seem to have problems with the indent function on quotes. The quoted section is properly indented, but the response remains indented, not going back to the left margin. With multiple quotes, you can wind up with a post that's only an inch or two wide.

I can't figure out why this happens, but the increase in this was very noticeable after the recent upgrade, so I'm guessing that there's something there that is confusing users. (As a happy little html nerd, I just keep typing my < blockquote > < /blockquote >.)

It's terrible for legibility, and it also makes the posts longer than they need to be, as in stretched down the page.

Re: Feedback wanted: myFICO site design improvements

I think this was already mentioned, but it's inconvenient to get to my purchases.

For example:  I usually go straight to the Credit Card forum on Fico Forums.  And generally I am directed to log in right away.  But once I'm logged into the forums there's no link for my purchases.  I have to click on Products then the link for my purchases will be there.  Sometimes I even have to log in again, even though I haven't been logged out to get to my purchases.

Why can't the 'my purchases' link be there constantly once I've logged in, even if I'm logged in to the forums?

Re: Feedback wanted: myFICO site design improvements

Personally I am very disappointed about not being able to receive my free fico score.  That was the reason I signed on, so that I could see the credit cards and come up with a plan to pay them off.  Now I have paid for something that I cannot get without spending even more more money.  I wish I had known after or during the webcast that you would have to put in for the fico score immediately, or that it would be given free to a limited amount of people. Because then I would have had an option to join myFiCO or not.  Now I feel duped and mis guided in this whole process.

Which program was this?

There was a free FICO score deal at the beginning of the week that got slammed when a link was posted on some non-FICO site. The freebies were gobbled up overnight, I think. The servers semi-crashed the evening before due to the demand.

But there was no money involved, so I'm not understanding what you lost. What is it that you paid for?

It's a shame that you couldn't get your score, although there wasn't a report with it showing your cards, but when the tsunami hit that evening, I don't know that there's a lot that could be done. As it was, Lithium did a great job getting the servers back up and humming.

It was an interesting 18 hours or so.
