Getting a little upset with MY FICO

Okay so I had a couple of items removed from my equifax and experian accounts on 04/25/08 which were reflected on my TC CR. I then receive an alert today from MY FICO in regards to a 16.00 increase on one of my credit card balances. I then call MY FICO because I am wondering why I would not receive an alert for two deleted accounts. The Representative proceeds to tell me they are having technical difficulty and that it should be resolved within the week. I then ask her if she could give me my updated Equifax score and she gives me a score that is 73 pts lower than the alert that I just received today!!!!!!!! Needless to say,I became very upset and asked to speak with a supervisor, because if I don't get an alert for a 73 point drop(which she said was as of the 24th)then I feel that the whole monitoring is pretty much pointless. Well the supervisor then tells her to give me a free power score report. I pull the report and low and behold I have had a 20 pt increase as opposed to a 73 pt drop. Needless to say I am a little leary at this point. LOVE the Forums, not so sure about the score watch.

Re: Getting a little upset with MY FICO

Hi ramona32,

I think I can clear up a couple of issues.  First, Score Watch does not send alerts when accounts are removed.  Second, score alerts are sent every 7-10 days.  I see that you received an alert on 4/23, so you wouldn't receive another score alert for another week or so.  If you read the Score Watch guide, it will help explain how alerts work:

I cannot however understand where the agent you spoke with ever saw a 73 point decrease, so I apologize for that misinformation.  I'll pass this along to our customer service manager.

Thanks for the information, however should I not receive an update for an increase of 20 points? Don't get me wrong, the customer service rep was just trying to do her job,but understand my frustration with the whole situation.

Re: Getting a little upset with MY FICO

Absolutely, you should receive an alert, but note that score alerts are sent every 7-12 days if there is not a credit alert associated with the score change.  So depending on when you received your last score alert, you might not have received the score change yet.

Is it 7-10 days, or 7-12 days? All previous information I've seen here, including a prior response from you in this same thread, says 7-10 days.

A recent derogatory account was removed from my Equifax report via dispute on 4/19/08 (13 days ago), and I've received no alert yet. I'm sure that would have had at least some impact on my score, so I should have received a score alert.

I'm also several days past the normal reporting date for one of my credit cards, and a day or two past the normal reporting date for another. Both haver higher balances this month than last month, and I've received no alerts about that, either.

This isn't what I expected when I signed up for the ScoreWatch service.

I don't believe there is a credit alert associted with that.  Hence it probably falls into the 7-10 day wait period.

I also know that one of my balances has gone up - but so far it only shows up on EX, so I won't get an SW alert until it hits EQ.

Perhaps it does fall in the 7-10 day wait period, but I've been waiting for 13 days since the day that Equifax notified me that the change occurred. 13 is more than 7-10.

It's been 16 days since my last Score Power report, and 26 days since the date of the last score alert that wasn't triggered by me getting a Score Power report.
