Optimizing scores

I assume others have commented , but I just pulled my 3 bureau here with all the various scores.   I can't help be amused at the reason codes though:

Bankcard 5: You have too few or too many revolving accounts

Bankcard 4: You have too few or too many credit card accounts

Couldn't they have put in just a little extra code to indicate whether it was too few or too many?   And there must be a magic number/range.

Getting demanding now.  The magic number range is between somewhere less than and more than enough.

As a test, I just applied for 400 new credit cards.  Once they report, I will see if the reason goes away.  If it doesn't, not sure if I should apply for lots more, or close most of the cards and wait 10 years.

Fico = Goldilocks

The magic no is: your age x 5 / number of household pets - the current temp (Calvin). Everyone knows that!

Current temp where?   Where you are, or at the CRA?   Sounds pretty hard to get it right, just as you do, the temp changes and you get dinged....
