I was married 4.5 months ago. I changed my name with DMV and Social Security 2.5 months ago. I also recently (within the last couple of weeks) began changing my name on my credit cards. I have not yet changed my name with the bank or on my auto loan.
My husband and I are planning to buy a house soon. I'd like to pull all of our reports and scores. I currently have a Scorewatch subscription (under my maiden name). I have not received a name change alert from Scorewatch, yet. I'm looking at either the Suze Orman kit or the Credit Complete kit (not 100% sure what the big difference is, and which would be better).
When I purchase my reports/scores, should I purchase under my maiden name, or my married name? Or will it matter?
Congratulations on your recent marriage, Dani24! It really shouldn't matter which name you use, although I'd suggest using your married name. Have you also moved recently? If so, in addition to your current address be sure to also list a recent previous address where you've received bills. Good luck!
