2012 was great for me. I got a house and got my foot in the door with Chase, Citi, and Discover.
I am in the garden right now but If I had to app I would likely try for a AMEX BCE and cli on my chase and discover.

I would like to get the B.C.E. in January for maximum backdating.
I would also like to try for the U.S. Bank Cash + and the Penfed platinum rewards.Sorry, new to this forum, but I'm curious about the AMEX backdating you're talking about? I think I know what backdating is (you have an AMEX account, you close it later on, then years down the road you open it again and AMEX backdates your account to show on your credit reports that you were a member the whole time, right?). How does getting it in January provide the most benefit though?
Because the new date will be with the month of the original date. And clearly January is earlier than December in the same year.

2012
2012 was a excellent year for me because i went from having no credit history to having 6 credit cards opened slowly through out the year.
January: Capital One $500
Febuary: Amazon & Walmart Store Cards $300 each
March: Paypal Smart Connect w/Paypal Debit Card $400
August: Bank of America Cash Rewards Secured $300
November: Discover Motiva $1000
Through out this year as some of you know, I made lots of calls to GE Credit Solutuons to aquire credit limit increases,I also contacted Capital One Social Media team and Execitive Offices to add cash back and aquire a credit limit increase and also have my annual fee removed & I was successful. All of these accomplishments have really helped, as you can see from my siggy.
For 2013:
I plan on applying for a credit card to replace my Amazon Store card but not a card that will be used to gain Amazon Rewards, as i rarely shop on Amazon, I just basically got the Amazon Store Card for building credit, getting nice limit increases, and for utilization purposes as this forum has taught me well... (Thanks guys)
I am looking at one of the following,
American Express BCE
Barclays Rewards Mastercard
PNC Bank Cash Builder
I bank with PNC and i applied earlier 2012 and was denied I am hoping if i app for them in 2013 they will approve this time.
For any of these cards above, it would be ideal to garden till 2014 but i don't know if i can hold out that long to tell you the truth.... lol
Also in 2013,
My Bank Americard Cash Rewards Secured will unsecure by August unless i am able to initate an early graduation and i would like to convince them to remove the Annual Fee for good like Capital One did, i may even reach out to the Executive Offices at Bank of America if i have to!
Here's hoping 2013 will be another success in my credit building Journey!!! Thanks everyone!
For 2013, I plan on getting in the door with Chase via their Freedom card. I also want Barclay's Choice Privilages Visa and a Kay's charge. Ive been in the garden since 12/2011. I have a major baddie coming off in Feb.... So come March, let the games begin!
I will probably cancel my AMEX PRG (don't use it much, and don't want to pay the AF), and maybe (or maybe not) app for the Starwood card, and then possibly app for BOA with one of these offers they send seemingly everyday for a 3-2-1 rewards card. I kind not in need of this card, but the interest rate and BT rates on the offers are decent (11.99-13.9 isn't too bad for BOA). I will probably wait until they have a better sign up bonus though. Also may see if I can PC my Penfed Travel AMEX to the Premier rewards card instead (does it still offer 5% back on gas?). Other than that, I am looking at cards to see what needs to be axed - I think I have too many. Will look into combining some cards/limits in the future. Not planning any new apps until probably Feb, or even later.
2013: going for a nice cli to make my freedom a visa sig

2012 was a great year for me too. Went from a 651 (at the lowest poing) to 747 (at the highest point). Now my latest lender pulled experian is a 727 after going on an app spree. Gardening until March 2013 and when I come out, hoping to get:
Amex Blue Cash Preferred
Marriott Rewards Premier
Chase Southwest Premier
CSP and Old Navy
2012: Amex Zync, Penfed Platinum Rewards, and Boa Cash Rewards.
2013: Fidelity Amex, Penfed Promise
Fidelity Amex gives 2% on all transactions!!
Penfed Plat gives 5% on gas all year and 3% at grocery
Discover has random 5% which is nice
Penfed promise has mo fees for anything(except 9.99 apr)
Boa and Zync not sure what I am going to do with. Although for some reason I love it.
