I forgot to make my payment on my car loan on time. I just made it on the 30th day past due. It was due on July 24th and today is August 23rd. Made it by phone on my debit card. This was with hughes federal credit union. I'm worried that they will report me 30 days late to credit bureau. I spoke to several people and everyone had a different answer. First person said if I make it today I won't be reported 30 days late to credit bureau. Others had different answers. Does anyone know if they will report?
Including today, you're technically 31 days late, so yes there's a chance you could get dinged a 30 fay late.
I'm pretty sure I'm 30 days late today. I'm looking for a more definitive answer.

They may they may not report, nobody has a definitive answer .technically you were 31 days and they can report if they choose .

Real easy to use a date calculator... July 24 to August 23 is 31 days. As to a definitive answer, if you were in fact only at 30 days when you made the payment, the definitive answer would be they can't report it as a 30 day late until you're 31 days late. As to what Hughes will do in this situation I don't think anyone here can answer that with certainty. Maybe since you contacted them, and based on your history with them they'll give you one time courtesy and not report it. But I don't believe anyone aside from Hughes knows what they're going to do. Hope it goes in your favor.

I agree with the OP that the payment was 30 days late, not 31.
Since the payment was due Wednesday July 24, you start counting late days starting with Thursday, July 25. You count all the way to and including Friday, August 23. That's 30, not 31.
It's only 31 days if you include July 24th as the first late day, which it isn't.
So hopefully that bodes well for the OP.
Hughes told me I was only 30 days late. They also told me that they start reporting late on Day 31. I hope I'm good.
