So if I had captial one accounts discharged in April last year, ch 7, I should be able to qualify soon? I was able to get Kohls but regular cap 1 prequalify says no because of my history with them.
@Anonymous Cap1 bases it off charge off date or BK, whichever happened first. If you filed BK before your account charged off, then it would be based on the date of your BK.
The "requirement" I stated is for Cap1 cards, not co-branded cards such as Kohl's, even though payments are sent to Cap1.
I hope this helps!
I burned capital one for maybe $400. My ch 7 was filed in late January 2020 and it took exactly one year and one week to get a hit on their preapproved. I couldn't even get a nod for a secured card from them. They approved me for their platinum card for $400.
Ok thank you
I've been trying since 4 months post DC... I think I'll wait until I hit a year. I just got approved for PedFed power rewards $2500 SL
I feel like they hate me lmao
Ahhh so my BK was discharged mid April 2020... should I wait until May of this year?
I burned cap1 for 4K in my Bk discharged Jan 2020...I tried them in June 2020 and they denied me with 3 infamous credit pulls... I decided not to return to them but seeing mg others success after one year out of Bk I went ahead and pulled trigger...preapproval sute gave me all three approvals for platinum, quicksilver1, and secured.
I decided to app for the quicksilver regular one no annual fee with cash back 1.5% and they approved me SL of 1k.
I'm happy to have been approved....now I garden. NFCU just gave me 12.5k MasterCard, I'm back in with cap1 so there's no need to get anything else for now until next year when I'm 2 years post discharge.
This forum got me here so keep working at your credit, take baby steps and follow the forum, you will get where you need to be.
A bit over two years post discharge on my BK, and burning a few Capital One cards, they sent me a pre-approval e-mail this morning, so I thought, why not! They pre-approved me for both Platinum and QuickSilver One so I opted for the QuickSilver and got approved with a $3k limit. Oddly enough, that's higher than my limits with them prior to my credit tanking pre-Bk when I had a 790 score. Go figure!

I had a card with them in 2016, the limit may have been $700. I fell on hard times and it was charged off. Then recently included in BK.
I've read on here ppl still being able to get a card with capital one post Ch7.
In addition, I have since been approved for a Kohl's charge...through capital one (6 months post discharge)
Anyone else have this happen?

They were burned for about $7K in my BK7 last year and I kept getting those messages to. 10 months after my discharge I got an instant approval of $3K so hang in there. (They're actually one of the creditors that I wouldn't have included if I'd had a choice, but we don't).
