@Anonymous wrote:I burned capital one for maybe $400. My ch 7 was filed in late January 2020 and it took exactly one year and one week to get a hit on their preapproved. I couldn't even get a nod for a secured card from them. They approved me for their platinum card for $400.
I feel like that is the more accurate time frame for Cap1. Granted in the scheme of things, saying one year or one year and one week is a small nuance. lol But for me, it was one year and one week from my charge off prior to them giving me my shiny new card (that I'm hoping to PC tomorrow, 100 days from approval).
@Anonymous wrote:I burned cap1 for 4K in my Bk discharged Jan 2020...I tried them in June 2020 and they denied me with 3 infamous credit pulls... I decided not to return to them but seeing mg others success after one year out of Bk I went ahead and pulled trigger...preapproval sute gave me all three approvals for platinum, quicksilver1, and secured.
I decided to app for the quicksilver regular one no annual fee with cash back 1.5% and they approved me SL of 1k.
I'm happy to have been approved....now I garden. NFCU just gave me 12.5k MasterCard, I'm back in with cap1 so there's no need to get anything else for now until next year when I'm 2 years post discharge.
This forum got me here so keep working at your credit, take baby steps and follow the forum, you will get where you need to be.
It was just weird that I couldn't get them. And I've heard of so many being able to post discharge. I just got approved for a PEN FED platinum rewards SL $2500. I've been building since last summer working toward a 750. FICO scores 655/616/676.
I'll try again in May... 13 months post discharge
Yep. I burned them hard and got approved 3 months after discharge for platinum. I think they are very bankruptcy friendly. Just don't burn them a second time and stay on top of your finances!
I was approved today for a platinum Capital one with a 300$ limit, it's been exactly 7 month post chapter7 and I burned capital one by 1400$. My credit score is 565 today

Sheesh! I am now 12 months post Ch7 and I am STILL getting that message. I give up... smh
