How to Clear Chexsystems

Hello my Fico Fam! Okay so I have an issue. So I am about 6 months(pymts) in my Chapter 13...I have been a member with PenFed and SDFCU with saving accounts with both CUs for about 5 months now as well. I want to open a checking account with PenFed in hopes for the overdraft LOC and I also want to open a secured LOC and secured card with SDFCU. I ordered my chexsystems report couple weeks ago and recently got it in the mail and noticed nothing have been removed from it in regards to my BK. So..."how" do I go about getting this matter resolved with Chexsystem and having them include the items prior to my BK...in my BK. Because I think having these items on my chexsystems are affecting PenFed and SDFCU to allow me to open up a checking account. If I can get some HELP...I would GREATLY appreciate some intell!

For those with a new discharged Chapter 7, you can clear Chexsystems of any negatives by simply mailing them a copy of your BK filing and asking them to remove the items.   Oddly, they will even remove negative entries for things like "account abuse" (fraud), etc. -- things that are not necessarily a financial debt covered by a BK.

I would send them your paperwork and see what happens.  My only question is since you have  a 13 and it is not discharged, I'm not sure if this will still work before discharge.   You have zero to lose by trying.   Go for it.

I was able to clear mine up entirely online, if you go to www.chexsystems.com and click on the “dispute” link there’s an online form you can fill out, and they let you attach documentation here as well. It was really easy and took just a couple of weeks for processing (I started working on cleaning up my reports after my chapter 7). Good luck to you!
