New BHG Business Card Blocked?

UPDATE 12/21/22:

So I was able to find a number at BHG that connected me with someone in there Syracuse main office.

The CS rep was friendly enough to get me to someone actually in their CC dept.

Long story short, I told him everything that's been going on and he of course confirmed that they got swamped with apps for this card like overnight lol, so they are going through everyone of them.

He called me back while I was at the grocery store later this afternoon, but wants me to call him back again to ensure I got the card (which is odd since I told him I already got it...) and got home tonight...card still blocked.

I'll give them one more chance tomorrow...after that, this card is going in the shredder.

@atst2000 Why throw it out? The guy said their swamped so if your patient i fully believe youll have full use of the card. You already wasted the TU hard pull might as well just wait the process out. The 0% balance transfer APR and the fact it doesnt report anywhere really make this card pretty solid in my eyes. I would be frustrated too if that happened to me when i got my bhg card so i get it , but i still think you should give them a little time . How long have you been waiting to get card access?

UPDATE 12/22/22:

So continuing on my road w/ activating this card, I called the rep from their main office back this am and naturally he's out of the office.

Called into their Syracuse office and was put in touch with one of his colleagues who advised nothing can be done until sometime in the beginning of January!

To say the least, I've never seen something so @$# backwards as this company...all I wanted to do was BT one of Biz cards to take advantage of the 0% BT offer.

What a mess

I have a feeling that "suspected fraud" was not the real reason this is happening, and that it's not the "back office" folks doing it. I suspect that it's the regulatory compliance people informing the underwriting people that the bank doesn't have the balance sheet required in order to extend as much lending as they have "approved".  I suspect that my 14k approval will be reduced to 2k which would make the card fairly worthless to me. And I suspect that the "fraud" and the request for drivers licenses and utility bills was merely a ruse to divert our attention.

Yeah I agree...from what I've heard "Blue Ridge Bank" just bought out this portfolio from another lender and suffice to say, as others have mentioned...they bit off more they can chew.

The whole reason I got this card is the decent SL's and the BT offer.

@SouthJamaica dang im sorry, i wonder whats going on with them , it seems that anyone who applied mid december is running into issues. But i dont think its that they are unable to support how much they lent out , they would have shut down the application and returned it to the way it used to be - needing an access code to apply for any credit card if they couldnt support all the people they approved. As of now, you can still freely apply. (Unless they really are clueless lol)

Wow... I forgot that I took an HP for this one. I can't keep it straight anymore. I still haven't gotten my phone call after over a week. I have the card in my wallet just in case the call comes while I'm at work or out and about.  We'll see I guess. 

@atst2000 and @SouthJamaica that would be kinda grimy for them to reduce the approval amount like that but honestly would anything surprise you right now?

The only thing that would surprise me would be their activating my card with the agreed credit limit. I truly believe they have gotten in over their heads.

Well this is the 3rd time I've called.

I tried on Sunday and to my surprise a CSR answered the phone.

Went through all the same questions and was told it was 'being elevated to the back office ' but no one was there right then.

The same CSR said she would call me back at this number in the future once it was resolved.

LOL.....I'm pretty sure that isn't going to happen.

So still in limbo.

The one thing I do find odd is during each call I mention I'm on a business forum and this is a topic of discussion. That many people are reporting this issue and they must be frustrated and possibly overwhelmed with this problem.

All 3 times they claimed not at all.

Either they are using a preprepared format answer, not allowed to answer, or genuinely it is a smaller problem than we think in scope.

Not sure which but normally I can get folks to chat bit....all three seemed to be responsive and pleasant.....we talked about weather, New Years, etc.....but on this question there response was surprising.
