Re: AMEX Head Scratcher

You obviously have an internal score that is through the roof and that may help you as well.
We all look forward to a positive outcome for you, OP.

Re: AMEX Head Scratcher

I just called a few minutes ago to see if there was a review yet. They are so messed up in there! She wanted to do another submission for CLI but I asked her if it was futile really. She wouldn't answer but did tell me that since my last inquiry was on 3/30 that I could try again on 6/30. I asked if it really was 6/30 or 7/1, which she couldn't answer for sure. Anyway, I told her that there was a request submitted last night and went through the story about Jenny online saying she was going to note the account to allow a CLI before the 90 day mark and the other rep did a request that was shot down immediately because of the 90 day rule. She looked and said "oh yea, that is under review right now and call back on Tuesday". So, another head scratcher day today with them. June 30/July 1 really is only 3 weeks away so I'm not really that much in a hurry but the fact they gave me this hope last night that turned out to be jumping through hoops sort of ticks me off.

So that's the update. No more calls until Tuesday evening after work.

Re: AMEX Head Scratcher

I totally understand where you're coming from. The same thing happened to me. I called the EO and was advised I would have to wait 90 days and the current denial wold NOT affect my chances.

I submitted my request 90 days later for the 3x and was approved. Be patient it will happen. Keep up the good work!!!

Im 48, have been a registered nurse for over 21 years and although any one can have financial difficulty, AMEX is not one creditor who is known to allow maxed out balances for years without an AA of some type/denial for more credit. It's awesome that you are currently debt free but remember, you can always put more than $200 on the card and just pay it before statement cuts. Good luck with the outcome.

Totally OT but I have a niece named Kim who is your age and also a RN

Re: AMEX Head Scratcher

So tonight I have an update on my head scratching AMEX saga that started with an online chat with an AMEX rep. I was told to call AMEX on Wednesday to see if they reviewed the CLI request, even though it hasn't been 90 days since I was rejected for the 3x CLI. I figured I would just wait until tomorrow night after work and see what they say, but decided to sign into my AMEX account....and to my surprise, they approved it!! I now have a $6k limit!!! AMEX SCORE!! I really truly expected another rejection from them. So, now I'm back in their good graces and will start using the card a bit more.
