AOD - two hard pulls?

Hey all,

I submitted my AOD app on 4/18 (saturday).  Noticed an email monday afternoon (4/20) requesting docs.  I submitted them, got a call an hour or two later for the membership deposit.  My rep was super nice and fast, on the call she said she would send some more paperwork over to sign, and then proceed to the Visa app.  The "more paperwork" was two signatures on the visa application, basically confirming everything I previously entered, and my credit report.

Got a call another hour later, she countered and asked me to send a copy of my student loan deferment.  I accepted and did so, she said she would submit my app to underwriting.  4/21 she called me back and said all was dandy.

FF to today, I noticed on creditkarma they HP me twice; once on 4/18 and again on 4/20.  When I applied on 4/18, it was for the card and membership at the same time.  Curious if anyone else has had two pulls?  Could it be an error, or did they HP me again when they "countered" me?  I'm pretty sure they did not say anything of the sort, but if they did I would have said sure Smiley Wink .  Should I ask for a del?

Call csr and ask them to recode 2nd hard pull as soft pull inquiry.

I think you're the first person to report 2 HP's. You're the lucky one. Lol.

Hopefully, it will go smoothly. Just explain the situation about 2nd hard pull. Good luck. Hope to read of your success.

Re: AOD - two hard pulls?

Are you sure these are two separate HPs, or just two notifications,  one from TU and one from EQ for the same pull?

My last HP, I was getting notifications for days from various CMAs

Yep, it definitely shows up twice on my EQ credit report on CK.  I too got spammed with pull notifications for a few days after applying, so I did not notice the second pull right away.  Once my CK updated a week later I noticed.

I looked over my CC app, noticed they list my credit report as pulled on 04/20.  Not 4/18, as when I originally applied and got the first ding.  There was also a 2nd credit report in the application, but it was blank.  Borrower name was blank, and score listed was 0.  It did have a date of 4/20 listed.  I saw that happened to someone else in the mega-thread too.

I tried calling and got the hang up after ~10 minutes.  Should I email my rep or send a SM?  I have 6 INQs on EQ including the two from AOD, so it's not the end of the world if I can't get it done.  Hardly anyone around here pulls EQ. (Also the AOD account just recently populated my EQ report. Already hit EX.  Still nothing on TU).

They won't do anything but tell you to take it up with the credit bureau. I asked about this in the mega forum as I knew it was possible. Everyone assured me it would be one hardpull but out of safety I locked my reports. Sure enough they tried to pull me again. Called to ask them about it and they said I had no pull on file. Stated it was wrong and the rep told me they would have to pull again. Asked him what to do about the pull they had and he told me to talk to Equifax as they had no pull from me. Went back and forth for about 20 mins until he decided to dig deeper. Apparently my app that got stuck was lost in the system. If it hadn't been for that I would've ended up with another pull. Sorry you were a victim to that, but on a brighter note at least it ended in an approval and you moved up faster on the ladder than me. We applied the same day, but the card has yet to show up on the app which of course means it hasn't reported to the credit bureau. Consider yourself lucky 😉.
