Just some datapoints.
It is my 61st day since obtaining my Delta Platinum 5 yrs 1 month post BK7 filing. SL was $7900. Increase request denied for BK7 on file.
Datapoints:
Fico 8 Ex 709
AAOA 4 years 8 months
Oldest Account 10 years 7 months
Inquiries 4
Did not burn AmEx in BK7
Only one negative account listed on Ex now, as all others have dropped off (car voluntary repo included included in BK7)
Utilization overall 3%
NFCU Platinum 15%
Discover It Miles 12%
Also denied a couple of weeks ago for the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant.
So, even though they gave me what I consider a nice starting limit with the Delta Plat, they are not really opening up to me yet with CLI or other cards.
How long do you guys think it will take before they may open up?
Thanks Finstar!! And yes, it is a very good limit that I can work with! So, I'm not upset about not receiving the increase. But, I will continue to test how they are opening up by requesting for the increase. Will do so in 91 days from now.
Also, I guess I am more wanting my goal card the Bonvoy Brilliant. With that card, I can obtain my current status (which was obtained through a challenge) for next year. Without it, I will go down a level. Not the end of the world, but I truly like the perks.
And I have another 4 years 11 months before the BK7 falls off. So, that's quite awhile!

There's really no known timeframe to be honest since it can definitely vary for every [BK] profile. You can definitely keep trying at every CLI opportunity available to see if it yields something fruitful with the BK present. On the plus side, it is a pretty decent SL all things considered 😁
How much longer before your BK is off EX?
I'm 8 years post BK and haven't been able to get a CLI with Amex.
No lates and utilization is 1%. I tried at the 100+ day mark and was denied, then again at 6 months which was also denied.

Thanks for hte info DoogieBall! Interesting. So, they won't give you a CLI, but I noticed you have 3 cards with them (2 business). I am not sure how business cards work. Are they linked to your personal card profile, your personal credit report, etc.? If so, how long after your first AmEx did you get your second and third cards?
@ItsPossible so sorry for your denial. Welcome to the club. This denial means nothing. Only that you continue to reach higher. And higher you shall go!
Thanks for the encouragement Mikesonthedemand! Yes, I will reach higher! I will be patient and get what I want!

The Amex ED was on a pre-qual that showed up right after year 6 but i waited (lack of education in CC trying to get CLI from Cap1 for a year) and then app'd about a year later. The pre-qual was solid for me as I had read from most people. The Simply Cash was about a week later. They did ask for personal income. I used it for quite a bit of spend which was hard for the 2k SL. There was a lot of transactions during Christmas which was paid off every week. I think using the Simply Cash for a good mount of spend helped in getting the Amazon Business Prime 6 months later. Neither of the business cards show up on personal reports but are linked to the Amex profile.
Amex has been really good to me but the BK is always cited as the reason for CLI denial.

Thanks for the info! At least I know there is a possibility of me getting a 2nd or even 3rd card with them Just got to give it time!
