$450 annual fee waived for the first year
While the Platinum American Express from Ameriprise Financial $450 annual fee waived for the first year for Ameriprise clients only has not been enfored and is available to the public.
Good offers.. Thanks for sharing
..

Holy moly! That AMEX Platinum deal is totally worth it, IMO! Then before the AF kicks in, you could always cancel the card like I am going to do my PRG here soon.
Do any of you guys know the income requirements for the Platinum card? I'm gonna consider it since I am taking a trip to Chicago this fall.
that platinum is awesome. Id love to convince my mom to get it. I've seen the same 500 but not with a weaker spend. The whole reason I got my PRG 50k was to fly HER to see my sister. In this case SHE should just do it.
AFAIK the requirements arent all that different, but the AF scares most of us more humble peeps away
That's what I'm saying. I work in retail and I like to remind the customers who try to flaunt their Platinum card on how they like that $450 annual fee. Most of my responses: "Haha, it's a little steep!" and my favorite: *obnoxious deep arrogant voice* "Well I fly a lot, so it kinda spends/levels/cost-effective's itself."
I'm still curious to know the income requirements AMEX has on their Platinum algorithims whenever you submit in an app. I mean, as a current AMEX cardholder, I know that they won't do a HP if it is a denial... But still, don't want to "look desperate for credit" whenever (if) I apply down to the BCE the end of this year.
That platinum offer is not great. They just had 100k points. Plus the travel credits are in limbo.
And your math is off. 50k mr points is not worth $500. To me its worth 1k or more, but in cash value its only worth $250. $500 for restaurant gift cards. Or 0.6 cents a point for account credits or 0.7 for amazon.

As far as income requirement goes it is tout that the American Express Platinum card holders have an annual income of $100,000 or more but i've seen people who make less than $20,000 annuals who also have an American Express Platinum Card...
''While the U.S. American Express Platinum website does not specify any eligibility requirements, if you are a Canadian citizen applying for the Canadian Platinum Card, you are required to have a minimum CAD$40,000 income, have not filed for bankruptcy for the past 7 years, and always made your monthly payments on time. Similarly, the U.K. American express card, specifies a minimum income of 65,000 euros'' http://www.wikihow.com/Get-an-American-Express-Platinum-Card
$450 annual fee waived for the first year
While the Platinum American Express from Ameriprise Financial $450 annual fee waived for the first year for Ameriprise clients only has not been enforced and is available to the public. However, the ''Spend $1,000 get 50,000 points'' Morgan Stanley Platinum American Express Card may be enforced. It says must have an account with Morgan Stanley but so does Ameriprise Financial.
