Hi All,
The mail I received today from American Express reminded me of the scene from the Harry Potter movie when Hogwarts was trying to send Harry his acceptance letter, and more and more letters kept arriving.
Last week I received 5 letters from AmEx, all saying the same thing regarding the Supplemental Card Agreement. Today, I received 107 (yes, literally one hundred and seven) more letters all saying the same thing.
I tried contacting them through chat, but the person on the other end kept thinking I was talking about duplicate emails. She kept apologizing for all the emails. So I thanked her for her time and decided to call in, and this time I got a super nice person that understood the problem and saw that they actually did send all of them out and said she did not know why or how it happened, but she would try and get the problem fixed.
And the funny part is I have not even received the actual credit card yet. I wonder how many of those will arrive. LOL!!
This looks like someone has committed fraud on the account. They added a bunch of people as authorized users possibly for a payment so that their reports would improve. You might want to check if only the correct people are allowed to send charges in. Naturally it looks like the start of the Harry Potter series in the first book/movie. Just watch out or they will send a Hagrid too.
Wow!! Thank you for that input!! I did not even think about that, it never crossed my mind.
Is that something that I would check for see or be able to check online?
@ zerofire!!
Again, thank you! I went to my online account and I did not see any AUs but I went ahead and requested that the card be replaced and expressed my concerns ahead of time even though I have not even received or confirmed receipt of the card yet.
I really hope that did not happen. Does cancelling the card shut down the possibility of someone trying to do that?
I have to admit, I am also a little embarrassed wondering what our mail carrier might be thinking. Lol!

@ Varsity_Lu,
Thank you for responding.
LOL!!!!!! That's too funny!!
That new hire must be working overtime! I thought the 107 that I received early this morning was it. Nope, the mail carrier came back later this afternoon and gave me the rest of them. She said my box was full with the first batch. She gave me an additional 97 letters of the same thing for a total of 209 letters so far. Wow!!
I really don't know what's going on, but I hope AmEx has not been hacked. I'm not sure just how worried I should be. I've never seen anything like this before.
Grats on the 107 letters. Now I know why my Plat carries a $895 annual fee. To pay for your letters and stamps... I guess I should add, You're Welcome.
Also grats on the new card.
Hi Dcowboy08, thank you and thank you for responding!
To be honest, I'm not sure what to expect next. Since I spoke with AmEx this morning already, hopefully they will fix the glitch which will give my mail carrier a bit of a break! LOL!!!
All you need to do is check your authorized users. Make sure there are no extra cards allowed that you are not expecting. Normally each of those envelopes would have a different person authorized to receive them. If they are all in your name then AmEx is seriously wasting trees.

Thank you for the feedback. I checked and I don't have any authorized users, I've never had any. I did look at that yesterday, but I requested a card replacement anyway.
Based on my USPS Informed Delivery email this morning, unfortunately it looks like I will have some more letters from AmEx arriving today. I won't know how many untill they arrive.
