Amex BCE APPROVED..but low starting limit.

I was approved for a $1k and was wondering if I should call right away to see about them reconsidering for a higher starting line or I should wait for the card to arrive?

OR wait the 180 days for the first 3xcli?

Something in your CR caused that low SL and unless that changed since you apped I doubt a recon would be successful. Getting a CLI at activation or before activation is usually a fruitless endeavor anyway. I'd just use the card heavily and pay it off immediately and then when 61 days rolls around hit them up for the 3x CLI and see what happens.

Info overload is very understandable, just treat Amex right and they will return the favor, it's a great card that can and will grow, you'll get a bigger CL one way or the other, congrats on the approval and Good Luck with PenFed they are an awesome CU.

I would keep it and ask for a 3xcli in 61 days.  After 6 months ask for another 3xcli and so on.  You'll get there before you know it.

Yes first CLI can be had at 61 days, not 180 so you only have to sit tight for 2 months, use the card well and PIF and you should be able to grab a $3k limit which I'm sure would be much better for you.

Congrats!

I got my BCE with $1500SL and as soon as I received the card, I requested CLI online. Asked for 3K only didn't think they would give me 3X so quickly, but received what I asked for. (received the card about one week)

When 180days came, requested 3X for 9K and was granted CLI.

You can wait 61 days or 180 days before your 1st CLI, however when AMEX gives out low SL like mine and yours, it seems they would issue more CL after activation.
