The PreQual shows me the Gold Card as available.
I also just realized that the collection agency REMOVED my collection from my credit report and thats why my scores jumped ~40 points each in the last 15 days! (~640 to ~680)!
My credit was already pulled for FHA back in March!
Hmmm... as long as you are ready for the for AF next credit statement and can make that 2k spend for the 50K points, I don't see why not trying to apply if you really want it. In my personal opinion, I was in maybe a worse position than you and I got an approval. I got accepted with 650 EX FICO and less income. But as always, YMMV.
I really like mine and was my real first dip into the credit world. I'm still not convinced there is a better earning card on the market. So its gonna be my daily for the forseeable future.
Do understand that this is a charge card. Its not gonna be a substantial credit building card and prepared to PIF every month.

That would be a seriously back handed compliment. Take a pass on that !!!
Starting Score: F8 3xxI got it again last night, checked again this morning and the limits were gone. FICO 8 is 701 as of 05/01. Honestly, it feels like their 'after hours' pre qual for me.
I didn’t have this message when I checked on Friday. I would check again but I just put EX back on ice and filling out the form is a pain to temporarily lift it (they’re the only one of the three that doesn’t have a login system). Interesting though.

Has anyone ever seen Amex Prequals list an acutal credit limit? I checked it this morning and they're still listing the Basic Everyday, the BCE, and Gold Delta, but both the Everday and BCE now list "with a credit limit upto 2,000". I checked it a couple of times earlier in the week, but this is the first time I've seen anything like that for any prequal for any lender.
Glad I didn't pull the trigger earlier in the week.
Also, it's the only pre-qual application that includes the option to include non-taxable income.
That sounds more like Credit One or First Premire than Amex
I was just going to say the same thing. You would think the sharks are the only ones that are advertising an amount, as if you're desperate for a CL.
