Amex app question..

So, I was feeling overly confident this morning. Apped for an Amex Delta Gold. Instead of the denial that I have gotten in the past, I got a message that said they needed some additional info, and would be contacting me. I went to the status check page, and there was a link to provide the additional info they wanted, which was my sky miles number. I tried entering the number, but I kept getting an error message, so I called new accounts. Gave the rep the info, and she said someone from the special team would be contacting me. When I went back to the status check page, now it says to check back in 24 hours..

Any ideas?

It sounds like it could be a glitch. Perhaps weekend maintenance. It seems like features that integrate with third-party programs have problems often.  For example, Chase rewards and Amazon! When I applied for my AMEX Everyday, I wasn't instantly approved. I called them right away to confirmed my identity and everything was fine. Maybe you can call again during the week to get a rep who knows more. Don't give up!

It sounds like an approval to me. I've never received an instant approval from AMEX either. But I now have the following cards:

- AMEX HILTON  $2.8k CL (approved March 2016)

- HILTON SURPASS  $1k CL (approved June 2016)

- AMEX PLATINUM (approved this week.. July 2016)

Update..

 A week later. Still no approval or denial. Called Amex new accounts earlier, and was told "Everything looks good, the team is working on it", and that they might call me, and that I should expect to hear from them next week. Is this normal?

That is ODD, just call and ask if it's approved or denied, they told me the same with one of the card I applied and I insisted if I can know if it's approve, they put me on hold for few minutes and came back - "Underwriter recommended $5,000 SL, Congratulations!".... then the status online went from In Progress to Approved I hope for the best! They wont take this long if they are not trying to get you in!
