I have heard is said several times they will cap you out around 2/3 your income? Would the 33k be close to that?

I got denied a CLI request from 27k to 50k a few days ago, with the same reason given, and no counter offer.
50k isn't even close to 2/3 of my stated gross income.
It would be around 2/3 of the total of my paychecks for a year, after tax, insurance, and retirement deuctions, but AmEx doesn't have access to that info.

300/mo is enough they just took me from 27 to 50k with about that spend and pif generally before statement post.

That's easily believable, even without a 4506-C review especially if the increase didn't push your aggregate CL across all AMEX credit cards into or past roughly $80-90K territory.

Point being it wasn't spend that was the issue, they were worried about credit exposure to income. Maybe they didn't like something on the report, maybe they were worried about cash flow who knows but it wasn't spend.
