First time applying for Apple Card. My TU9 is 690...I think I have read they prefer at least a 700 but I've seen people with a lower score get approved and I didn't. Reasonings were too many inquiries and insufficient trade information available. I don't have any collections but I do have a card I started off with when rebuilding my credit and the credit utilization is high on it.
I'm thinking if I pay off this card in full right away and then wait a bit to reapply, I pay be approved.

Sorry for your denial

Bummer on the denial.
Having only one card, and having it be running a high Util certainly makes it tough. I would reccomend paying that one down, maybe opening a couple of other cards (secured if neceessary) and start building payment history quicker. Even if you pay that one down, it isn't going to change the fact they think your file is too young/thin.
Is that card your only one? if so where did all of the inquiries come from? Were they just apps with denials, or from other lending? Just make sure they were in fact, from you.
If you get secured avoid C1, get Disco(7m graduate), BA(grows fast) or USB(cl is hp)

I have:
CO SavorOne $1.5kB/$3kCL
Citi Simplicity $0B/$11kCL
Credit One $0B/$1kCL
Avant $260B/$300CL
The Avant card is the one I'm specifically talking about. Just want to pay it off and get rid of it
chelle888 - I think you would be surprised what paying your card down to 9% utilization or below - that reports to the CRA's - would do for your credit score! Good luck

I wonder if you'll get an approval just by getting this to update to $0 balance. No hard inqury for Apple Card until you accept it, so no risk trying again once your report updates.
86% on a card is bad for scores, even if it's only 300CL
Also try getting the SavorOne down to <$1k if you can

Thanks! I will!
I got declined for the card with a 750, for too many inquiries.
in my opinion there are much better cards out there and better banks, so I don't miss not getting the card at this point
@chelle88 goldman sachs is a tough cookie to crack - data points all over the place for the apple card .... best advice i can give you keep applying and even if they keep denying you they may let you get on the "path to apple card " program which gaurantees an approval at the end of it
