So I just applied for the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature card, and it gave me the 30 day message. I called them, and they told me that they need to verify some information, though I would need to call them on Monday since the verification department doesn't work on weekends. Hopefully that's a good sign!
But I also want to apply for the AMEX Blue Cash Everyday card today, will applying for the AMEX card have any negative effect on the currently pending Chase Amazon card application at all? Or should I just wait until the Chase application is finished processing?
Amex almost always pulls EX
See who Chase pulled, If they didnt pull EX, you should be good to go
I disagree with everyone lol. You should be good to apply. Chase is very much YMMV, they have already HP'd you and if it is verifications you were most likely approved.

AlCo524 is correct, Chase does spook VERY easily to any “credit seeking” behavior. I would also wait until the Chase process is completed before applying for anything else.
Oh okay. Does that mean that Chase plans to run a hard pull again when I call them for verification on Monday? How would they know that I had applied for an AMEX card after they have already done a hard pull on me for the Chase card application?

That's what I was thinking at first, but I just wanted to be sure about it. But will it be a big deal with AMEX if they pull from the same credit bureau that Chase pulled?

Amex doesn't care one bit about your other inquiries IME.
Inqs don't seem to be something they focus on. Amex is VERY competitive and wants every PIF customer they can get! lol
Alright then. Now that I thought about it more, I suppose it makes sense that it wouldn't be a problem when I call them on Monday for the verification, since they already pulled my credit when I hit submit. I just wanted to make sure that applying for another card wasn't gonna be an issue for the pending app. Thanks!

If it is OP's first AMEX, it does take two months/statements to even report. I got mine in 2/8/18 and it hasn't reported, unlike Chase that reported very quickly.
OP should be fine to apply. I guess, their AAoA and revolving history matters too.
