Hello everyone.
I'm looking for advice on which credit cards to apply for that pulls TransUnion that aren't inquiry sensitive...
I will have an estimated score of 700-740 with 5% utilization, no derogatory stuff. Unfortunately I have 19 in past year, 9 in last 6 months (all connected to open accounts). Aaoa is 1 year, 7 months.
I prefer pre-qualification first but I'm not picky. Prefer higher limit cards.
Also, is there a way I can get them to pull from a different report? I have only 5 inquiries in past year on the other two bureaus.
Also, will Navy Fed overlook those inquiries if I get a good enough internal score? I have a savings and checking account. I just opened a pledge loan and paid it immediately to 8% left. Not sure how fast or often they update internal score.
Thanks.
If you'll do a search theres a thread on here that list what lenders pull which CRA. However with your very short AAoA and numerous INQ (esp 9 in 6 months) it's going to look like credit seeking behavior to the lenders which un turn may very well still lead to denial's and almost assurdedly won't be condusive to high starting limit cards. Personally I don't think NFCU will "over look" them, but you never know and if you do have those exsisting accounts with them and they are strong enough they may.
Also what are your current DP's? How many of those INQ lead to cards/approvals and at what limits. That will give us more info to make suggestions to you.
Here's a link to the previously mentioned crowdsourced thread that lists issuers and which CRA they pulled from, broken down by state.
Also, please note that discussion regarding attempts to control which CRA an issuer may pull from is frowned upon here.
They are all connected to an account, except the three I'm in process of removing.
Dp?
As far as limits, well I pretty much have every crap card you could have. Limits ranging from 300-1500, totaling about 9k. I have a very high income so DTI is almost 0.

NAVY pulls tu9 for new card apps. they werent inq sensitive with me in december when they approved me for a 3700 cash rewards. my internal score was 297, i just rechecked it. in fact my file is kind of a mess with a 2 year old bk7 and such. i do pay in full mostly and always pay on time. my overall util is 14 pct and my dti is low and i understand that really counts with them. my income is only 36000, im retired
Well I think once they change my internal score, I might have a chance then. I know it was 177 because I have a regular checking and savings with no deposits and was only with them for a week. I just got and paid 92% of a pledge loan yesterday. Plus I added a small deposit of 300. I can't make them my primary bank and it's hard doing deposits with no physical location by me. I might add a bill or two to be paid out of acct. I also might do another pledge loan while this new one is running. Paid >90% again. I have a very high income, they just offered me a secured card because of low internal score, so hopefully my pledge loan helped alot
How many inquiries did you have?

Right now i have 23 inqs, back in dec i had about 20, i dont have the exact breakdown but a fair amount on each cra. i never had moe than 60 bucks each in savings/checking although i did use 1 check and used the debit card once, i also made a few external transfers of small amounts into those accounts. i opened the saving for 15 bucks in may 21 and opened the checking the next month for 25. so i only had those accounts 6 months when i apped for the cash rewards. the prequal only offered the nrewards secured all that time but one week after penfed approved me for a 7.5k PCR i figured what the heck and apped for the navy cr, instant approval 3700 at 16.99.
i am in the same boat as you bank wise. i need a brick and mortar bank and nfcu only has one branch in my state and its on a restricted munitions base and only active military can get in, no vets allowed.
Thanks. That definitely gives me hope. The primary reason I believe I got offered a secured card was because at the time my score was 620 and internal score. Inquiries were also mentioned. I just got my score back up and should be quite high next week. If I'm real lucky, I might even hit 800. Unlikely.
They said: balance status in accts (took care of), inquiries (got the three removed, but still absurdly high ha), utilization (two cards maxed. Taken care of), and "insufficient variety of secured loan accts"?
I don't know what they mean as I have a credit builder that is just getting ready to be paid, but now I did a pledge loan since. I think that should be enough for unsecured, what I all changed of what they were being weird about. I am giving this my best shot so hopefully this works. I'm going to wait until all my new credit card balances update (to almost all 0) and try prequalify again.
