Approval chances for discover it w/ch7

Thanks averagejoescredit, yea these forums are addicting but discover is one tough cookie to crack. The reason i applied the second time was because i saw people here getting approved right after discharge so i decided to take the bait, but like i said it was a no go on the first two occassions. Now i will take this opportunity and make the best of it, hope in the near future discover throws some love your way.

Congratulations! I am glad you apped and got approved, and that is a nice SL!!!

I was just about to reply that I got approved for Discover It on July 9, and my BK was discharged 11/16/15. I did not burn Discover in BK. At the time of app my Fico Scores were EQ 665, TU 603, EX 668, and HPs less than 1 year were EQ 1, TU 1, EX 2. In addition to my IIB accounts, I have prior accounts that were closed in good standing, and an installment loan (student loan) with on time payment history. At the time I apped for Discover, I already had accounts open with CreditOne in May and Capital One in June, and my total combined SL's were $3600. Discover did pull EQ and EX for me, and I understand that they sometimes pull two if your profile is marginal, and they only approved me for $1000. Just some data points for those interested.

My bk7 was discharged 6/2010 with 2 judgements. I applied early 2014 and was declined. Applied again back in March and was approved with a $500 CL. I have already received 2 CLI bringing my total CL to $1100. I LOVE my Discover It!! I PIF each month and rack up the rewards. 

Keep the faith...it will happen!

I have apped for 6 cards beginning June 2016. 

discover - denied reason bk

am ex - denied reason bk 

barclays approved

cap 1 approved

penfed approved

credit one approved (apped for this first, before I had knowledge I could do better lol. Closed before activation)

I think the only reason I received the cards I have (the 3 listed above) is because I have a car loan that I received in 2014 with Wells Fargo. 

I get really excited for BK who get approved for discover and am ex. Gives me hope that maybe one day they will let me in the party lol.
