My BBVA ClearPoints just recently turned 1 year old, and I'm trying to decide if I want to ask for a CLI. I know they require a HP for CLI's, but that's the only info I really know about it. Does anybody know how the process goes? Do they ask for an amount you want to raise it or just automatically give you the maximum amount? If not, will they counter if you shoot too high like some other lenders? The card sees pretty heavy use - around $1100-1200 monthly - I always PIF. I have a pretty good limit on the card at $15,300, but of course I'd like to raise it if possible. I am preapproved for another card through them for $10K and slightly lower APR than my current card. I'd rather grow this instead getting another card.
Any help or advice would be appreciated!
Here are 2 posts of my experience with BBVA CLI. There are many others, good luck.
IIRC, it was sunshinefl who started an informative thread early this year.
I recently rec'd a CLI from them, after having the card for 7 months. My original SL was $6000 and I requested to double it, for a CL of $12000 and it was approved, so I don't know if I could've gone higher, or if they'll give a partial increase.
My history with them was I sometimes PIF, other times didn't. They pulled experian where I only had 5 recent hard inquries and my score was around 700.
Hope this helps!

Thanks! That helps a lot. Was it an instant decision on the phone?

Here is my recent experience..... I chose for the manual review over the computer offer and it worked out very well.....
https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Approvals/BBVA-Clear-points-CLI/td-p/6156294
The CSR asked how much I wanted the new CL to be....and as I always shoot high expecting a negotiation.....told her $20k.
Told it was a HP ....no problem there ( I have so many another doesn't matter....lol).
She came back and gave me two choices.
The computer generated auto CLI came up with $5800 as the new CL which I could activate immediately.... or it could go to underwriting and I would find out in 2-3 days.
I took the underwriting choice since my TU was about 765 last time I checked.
So I get up this morning and checking my account I noticed my CL was now $10,000.
Nice !! So much for the 2-3 days.....or was like 12 hrs.
Looks like I made the right choice by waiting.... instead of an $800 CLI it turned into a $5000 CLI.

Not instant, took a few days. Saw the increase in my account then got snail mail confirming a little bit later.
Thanks everybody for the input!
I will be eligible for a CLI on my PNC Cash Rewards card in about a month, so I'm going to wait until I ask for that one since they also pull EX and I think my chances may be better without that additional HP. It may be wishful thinking, but I'd love to finish out the year with another $10 - $15K worth of CLI's between the two.

BBVA pulled TU when I asked them for a CLI.
